The Iron skull impedes your progress by making you start at the beginning of the mission if you are killed, or if in co-op mode, the whole team must restart from the last checkpoint. If you lose your energy shield, the only way to regain it is to melee attack your foes if you activate the Black Eye Shield. Enemies become very dexterous and can dodge and weave miraculously to avoid your grenades when the Tough Luck skull is initialized. You will have to be equally as fast and flexible if the Catch skull comes into play as your enemies will throw a lot more grenades at a quicker rate at you. In Halo 3 for xbox, the Fog skull will deactivate one of your most important pieces of equipment, your motion sensor, so think carefully before making it functional. The Famine skull is basically what it sounds like; enemy equipment you retrieve will contain less ammunition that you will be expecting. Each invader will gain double their normal health and shields if the Mythic skull is in force. The Tilt skull makes your opponents armor much more resilient to attack. When a grunt is shot in the head, its head explodes into colorful confetti and the cheers of children can be heard, you might cheer as well. Hidden dialogue can be unlocked to aid in your campaign by putting the I Would Have Been Your Daddy skull into action and you might even be able to pick up some of the conversation between enemy forces as an added bonus.
