I am in grade 11 and I am doing a project on H.A.L.O.
a good charity and it's pretty smart. I chose this H.A.L.O. because I didn't know a lot about it at the time.

    Thanks for reading.

    Continue for last post:
Ask your vet if this is what Ajay has. It may also be a good idea to ask your veterinarian to refer you to an Internal Medicine Specialist in order to get the best care for Ajay's kidney failure. They can help you determine if the cause of his kidney failure is Lyme Disease or something else and offer many supportive treatments for either. Some medical treatments that may be recommend for dogs with kidney failure include antacid therapy, anti-nausea therapy, toxin / phosphorus binders, anemia therapy, fluid therapy, blood pressure medications, etc. Each dog is unique and may require different things in order to feel the best they can.
    Hope this helps.
    Good Luck with Ajay.

    Dear Shirley and Arnie,
Unfortunately, kidney failure is a very common degenerative disease in dogs as they age. Although Ajay's Lyme Disease test was positive, this definitely does not confirm that his kidney failure is a direct result of Lyme Disease. Depending on the Lyme test performed, a positive result may indicate that he had previously been vaccinated for Lyme or that he has had exposure to the Lyme organism at some time in his past, or that he actually is infected with the Lyme organism. A positive test does not confirm active Lyme Disease. Kidney failure resulting from Lyme Disease is not very common and is a severe progressive form of kidney failure characterized as a "protein losing nephropathy" which means an excessive amount of protein is lost in the urine.

Ajay our 8 year old cocker spaniel has been diagnosed with kidney failure. We were given nothing more, except a drug that could possibly have made him go down faster. We said no, after looking at the warnings - which included "not for pets with a seizure history" which is what Ajay has. The second Vet reran all the tests (good money) and ran an additional test validated the
'kidney failure due to LYME DISEASE" We confronted the our primary Vet and he said the test is not valid! - Hello He does show the classic signs yet; but we want to do all we can to keep him happy in the short time he has left. As a result we do not trust any of the Vets, since they appear to be looking at lining their pockets with unwarranted and unnecessary procedures costs that do nothing for our pet - (can be very painful) and only reduce his quality of life.
We need help in how to deal with this.
Can you help us in any way?
    Sincerely,
    Shirley & Arnie for Ajay

Halo is a 'miracle' product. One of my two cats stopped holding down meals, was losing too much weight, yet received a clean bill of health from the vet. I knew it must be allergy related or a reaction to carbs, so I went hunting for natural foods and it wasn't until Halo that his symptoms went away immediately and six months later he remains symptom free and he is the perfect weight with a gorgeous coat. Thank you Halo! I got our local ma & pa shop to carry Halo last month!
