Hamlet 2 is packed with surprises!

Steve Coogan plays Dana Marschz, a high school drama teacher who stages adaptations of modern movies in Tucson Arizona's West Mesa High School.

Taught in the high school cafeteria, the drama class moves to the school gymnasium when a nearby school doubles class size. These new inner city kids seem anxious and unteachable.

When a caustic grade nine theater critic's harsh review of Dana's playwriting (after a recent adaptation of Erin Brockovitch) humiliates the drama teacher in the school newspaper, Dana resolves to write and produce his own original material to make the drama program more relevant.

Unsupervised, the student body overcomes all obstacles to stage the material exactly as presented in Steve's script; the audience is equal parts shocked and horrified when Sexy Jesus descends onto stage in a rowdy musical number!

Hamlet 2 is a direct comment on teen angst in American high schools - it showcases the budget funding crises that's gripping the nation. And it causes children of all faiths to question their perception of Jesus Christ, as it ridicules a conservative community's outrage.
