European Hammered Coins are amazing !

Where else can you find an affordable item that may have once belonged to or been handled by such Historical Figures as Queen Elizabeth 1st, Blackbeard or Shakespeare ?

European Hammered Coins are often exquisite designs and probably the neaest we will ever get to knowing what famous people of the past actually did look like.

Or with Roman Coins by Caesar,Cleopatra or Caligula !

One of the less discussed investment opportunities too - Hammered Gold Coins have increased rapidly (but may not always do so of course) .

Because they are not making any more !

But read a good book on hammered coins  as this is an area where you do need to be properly informed.

If you want to invest in Gold Coins then the best site to visit is www.hammeredgoldcoins.info.
They have all kinds of gold coins at the best possible prices

What is a hammered coin ?

Before the advent of the Georgian and Victorian mass production methods, Coins had to be struck by hand (literally - a man with a hammer and a die punched them out of sheet silver or gold !) This meant that there were many variations ..especially on Friday afternoons .
Because hammered coins had a wide border,it was very common for peole to slice off an edge of every silver coin that passed through their hands - they would then melt down the slices and sell the silver. This was known as clipping and most medieval coins suffer to a greater or lesser degree.

If you are buying medieval coins then what you really want to get is a coin that has been under graded in condition. Thats why a good book is important - one which shows grading photos.
It can make a tenfold difference in the coins value.
Medieval and earlier coins have different grading from Victorian or 20th century ones..
Always keep the coin sleeve that it came in PARTICULARLY if it came in a descriptive sleeve from a major coin dealer. This will increase its value if you ever resell it.

Collecting coins is already a hobby for some people for they would like to know more about our history. With the help of these coins you can be able to see some of the people from the past that really made a great contribution in our society. As time pass by these are no longer present that is why you seldom find rare coins around that is why theses are being treasure by collectors so that they can be preserve them better. You can try checking this things out to some companies who are buying coins for they have lots of them that you can see just like in Tulsa gold buyers.

I believe that anyone who is into selling or auctioning vintage car plate numbers would find hammered coins a potential money-maker. There is definitely money with anything old because of the historical background and they serve as the only thing that connects us directly to history.

Pirate Treasure or Ransom Money ?

In this section you will often find reproduction being offered.
If you think you are buying the real thing INSIST on a certificate or other proof of authenticity.
A bad sign is a private auction since you will not be able to see the vendors feedback.
