Hampton Court Gardens

Hampton Court Palace is a spectacular former royal palace located in SW London, England. It features tours of the medieval kitchens, arranged the way they were during King Henry the VIII's time in the palace, and the various living quarters of the kings and queens who occupied the palace during its long history. The palace is upstream of Central London, and located right on the River Thames.  It is a short walk from the train station and is easy to find.  It is open to the public year round and is a major tourist attraction in England.

The gardens at Hampton Court are some of the best in the country.  On a clear and sunny day, the gardens are full of sun worshippers and nature enthusiasts alike.  The flower beds are well maintained and the variety of flora is dazzling.  One can elect to visit just the gardens for a discounted ticket price, and it is well worth a second (or third) visit throughout the year as different flowers are blooming.

Fountains...

There are several large fountains located throughout the gardens. They are very shallow and have a high spraying display which compliments the height of the trees throughout the gardens.

While they look very refreshing, it is not a wise idea to go wading- either the garden attendants or the swans will stop you!

The Swans

The Gardens are home to more than just flowers!

There are a large number of swans who make their home in the various water features of the gardens, especially the fountains.

They have no worries about food- many tourists delight in feeding the swans bread or crackers.

Not just flowers...

The gardens are so much more than just flowers- there are topiaries and manicured lawns, along with architectural features that take one's breathe away. The archway with the greenery is at least 35 feet tall and stretches the entire length of one of the side gardens.

NEW Calendars

2009 calendars are all in their "edit and arrange" stage right now- stay tuned for the new 2009 calendars!

Hampton Court Gardens 2008 Calendar

I have created a calendar to feature the beauty of the gardens at Hampton Court:

2009 Calendar Coming Soon!

Recently I visited the United Kingdom and I made sure I returned to Hampton Court. I visited when I was much younger and the memories of the gardens stayed with me. I had to return in the late spring to see everything in bloom again.

I took about 500 pictures- everything from individual flowers to massive, all encompassing shots of entire gardens. The amount of time it must take the planners and gardeners for up keep of the plants and flowers is just staggering when you look at not just the number of plants, but also the precise way they are arranged.

This calendar features my favorite shots from all the gardens and includes some more detailed pictures and also larger scale shots of the gardens as a whole.

Wow! The look of those gardens are breath-taking. I wonder the kind of camera you used for that, the pictures are so clear.
