    I voted in your poll -- I wish it would be a symbol of peace (I did vote for that). I think of the Hamsa (and always have) as G-d's outstretched hand (z'roa netuya). The Mezuza and many other things are there to remind us of G-d and to always think of G-d when trying to decide what to do in a specific situation. It's sort of to keep us on the straight and narrow.

    The Hamsa also reminds me of my Sephardic heritage (my family is mostly Ashkenazic, but I and a few cousins like to embrace our Sephardic roots). Nice lens -- thanks.

    Great examples of hamsas on this lens. I love the second one from Yair Emanuel. When my daughter went to Israel a few years ago, she picked up a silver hamsa necklace that is done in the Yemenite style. Very beautiful. :)
