List of Notable Hanazawa Kana Anime Roles

Hanazawa Kana did lots of memorable anime roles. While she is mostly known for voicing cute moe girls (my favorite has to be Sengoku Nadeko from Bakemonogatari), some of her other work shows off her diverse talents (like the role of a troubled teenager Suou Pavlichenko in the second season of Darker than Black).

Potemayo (2007) as Potemayo
Silly moe anime about a guy who finds a strange, but cute creature in his fridge and names her Potemayo.

To Love-Ru (2008) as Mikan Yuuki
An ordinary high-school student encounters a cute alien girl who decides she wants to marry him. As a result, he now has to protect her and himself from interplanetary conquerors. Hanazawa Kana voices his younger sister, Mikan.

Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens (2008) as Zange
An art student named Jin carves a statue from a holy tree, and it suddenly comes to life as a goddess named Nagi. Together with Jin, they work to destroy the impurities that are threatening the town. Hanazawa Kana plays the role of Nagi's deliciously evil sister, Zange.

Bakemonogatari (2009) as Nadeko Sengoku
This anime features various mythical creatures that cause trouble for humans and have to be exorcised. It's got some really good, although bizzare, art style and interesting story. Kana-san's character is Nadeko Sengoku, a shy girl who has a crush on the male protagonist, Koyomi Araragi. She has an entire story arc (Nadeko Snake) to herself.

Darker Than Black (2009) as Suou Pavlichenko
In the second season of DtB Hanazawa-san plays the role of Suou Pavlichenko, the female protagonist. Suou is a cheerful girl who's life is completely destroyed when she learns that she's a Contractor with special powers.

Cencoroll (2009) as Yuki
Cencoroll is a weird (in a good way) indie anime movie with Kana-san voicing the female lead.

Durarara! (2010) as Sonohara Anri
Drrr!! is a great 26-episode long anime about surrealistic life in Tokyo district of Ikebukuro, where many urban myths are actually real. Here Hanazawa-san voices the silent and mysterious female protagonist, Anri.

Angel Beats! (2010) as Kanade Tachibana
This anime takes place in a mysterious afterlife that looks just like an everyday Japanese school. Everyone is trying to understand the purpose, and they battle a powerful "angel" named Kanade Tachibana who they think responsible for all of it.

Bungaku Shoujo / Book Girl (2010) as Amano Touko
Amano Touko is a very special girl who literally eats books to survive. She is also able to absorb the story completely, and the taste depends on how well the book is written.

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (2010) as Kuroneko / Ruri Gokou
Kyosuke has a bratty, arrogant little sister named Kirino who gets perfect marks at school, models for a famous magazine and treats him as if he didn't exist. However, she is secretly an anime geek (otaku) and she hides her hobby so it doesn't ruin her reputation. With Kyosuke's help, Kirino meets new friends who share her hobbies (including awesomely cute Kuroneko who is voiced by Hanazawa Kana).

The World God Only Knows (2010) as Shiori Shiomiya
Keima is obsessed with playing dating sims, and is known as a God of Conquest online, since he can "conquer" any virtual girl. His reputation reaches even Hell, for a demon named Elsie appears and offers him a contract to hunt down runaway souls. To do that, Keima will have to actually apply his dating sim skills in real life. One of his "targets" is a shy librarian girl Shiori Shiomiya (Hanazawa Kana). Watch her call you baka and aho :).
