Handbag Love

Purses love to be cozy & well protected. Most suggest that you store them in individual dustcover bags that come with them. Sounds great to me - really, this is the most ideal. You may want to attach polaroids (or drawings!) of each one to the dustcover so you know what's inside.

Personally, I have a multi-layered storage approach - probably because I have so darn many.

1. Structured purses sit on the shelf that goes around my closet.
2. Non-structured/across the body bags hang in a clear purse-loop contraption. (included below in Amazon links)
3. Giant totes hang behind the door to my room on a hook system (included below in Amazon links)
4. Clutches are contained in a wire container.
5. Wallets are in a drawer under the sink.
6. Sporty/nylon bags are stuffed in a stacker.

Whew! Don't even get me started on shoes/boots!

Here are some tips I read in case you have issues with your white leather:

For regular leather - try a white eraser

For patent - use hand soap & damp washcloth

If all is lost - you could maybe dye it another color. Ask at your local shoe repair shop.

Try a buffing cloth or use the aformentioned hand soap or even baby shampoo. Not too dry or too wet, just buff it with a damp cloth.

Is your leather finished or unfinished?

Test: Dab a tiny bit of water with your finger on part of the bag that won't show. If it darkens go directly to answer 1a. If it doesn't see 1b.

1a. You have unfinished leather - Go directly to a pro. Sorry! (Oh, and don't pass go.)

1b. You may try, very gently, to rub with our friend the damp cloth. Not too hard though or you risk scuffing.
