Fashion Handbags - Recycle With Style

I have always loved creating things - sewing, cooking, gardening, in fact petty well anything that involves making something and, like all Crafters, I can't bear to waste anything! This all started when I was looking for something to do at home whilst looking after my baby son and a combination of ideas, serendipity and all those things saw me starting to make handbags from the scraps that were in my sewing box - that was it, I got the bug!

It was a challenge, making exciting bags from whatever came to hand. Friends started giving me fabrics to recycle, clothes, furnishing fabrics, blankets - all sorts. Now they have become so popular that I've opened my own Handibags Shop so anyone can now have a Designer Handbag that is reasonably priced - and absolutely unique!

The nature of the recycled fabrics that come my way means that every 'Handibag' is a one-off, it might be possible to get two bags from a piece of fabric but they are never the same because of the trimmings, linings, handles and so on. I spend a lot of time sourcing unusual fabrics to recycle and reuse, I enjoy the challenge of making the most of the fabrics I find.

After a thorough cleaning I set to with whatever I have to hand, taking my inspiration from what's in front of me to produce a unique bag. I make most of the trimmings from other fabrics and materials so even the tiniest scraps get used and little goes to waste.

Every one of my bags is totally handmade and finished to the highest standards, the only non-recycled materials are the magnetic clasps and the thread - and the inspiration that goes to create a unique 'Handibag'.
