I have the Everything Family Christmas book in kindle form. I can't wait to delve in to it and see what all the ideas are. I've only had the chance to skim it so far.

Video memories on CD make great gifts; we've discovered that even "bloopers" are much appreciated for lots of family laughs.

Joan, these are wonderful ideas. When my sister was pregnant with my amazing nephew, I saved all of her letters to me about her pregnancy and put them in a book. Many years later, she still has it. ...Absolutely love the idea of documenting special moments in the grandkids' lives for giving to the parents as gifts. That's extra kind and thoughtful!

What a wonderful lens! I used to always tell my neighbor that my favorite gift was a hand crocheted item made with leftover yarn. It always made her feel so good when I said that! :)

Oops. I meant to say, placemat collage. I've made themed placemats, using wedding, birthday, or Christmas cards and included the card sender's signature or note to personalize the final creation. I favorited your lens; it's fun to think of all the neat gifts you can make for someone.

You're so creative, Joan! My mom wants me to publish a book with some of my blog posts and other things that I've written. I really, REALLY should do that for her.

Great ideas and a great lens. I think the handmade gifts are the most treasured. I also like to give each child some kind of Heirloom. Something that I have kept that belonged to some of our ancestors. I try to include the story of who it belonged to and why I wanted them to have it.

Great ideas! We frequently make gifts - we enjoy making them as much as they enjoy receiving our creations. I bought brown 'butcher' paper for wrapping paper, and my son draws & colors for the occasion. I've also taken greeting cards from past occasions, cut out pictures or warm wishes, and made a placement collage. I covered the placement with clear paper. Thanks for even more gift ideas!
