Authentic Handcrafted Sterling Silver Jewelry
This article will showcase some of my handmade sterling silver jewelry designs. One of my passion in life is creating unique jewelry made of sterling silver and precious or semi-precious stones.
There are two main techniques used: write wrapping and chain mail. Both take hours and hours until the final jewelry creation is ready to be displayed in my shop.
I hope you will enjoy your stay and maybe you can find a piece or two for a birthday gift, anniversary, Christmas or Easter, or any other occasion where a unique, never to be found again, jewelry piece can give joy and pleasure to the gifted person.

Chainmail Bracelet - For Him
This is a perfect gift for any man who respects himself! Jewelry has become again popular with the guys and while most would still not wear gold, silver is the accepted currency for wearing a bracelet (or a necklace for the matter).
If you're not sure what gift to give to your husband or boyfriend (or even your son), this chain mail piece made completely from scratch over a full day is a gift that they will wear with pride. Each link in the chain has been cut, shaped and assembled one by one using the popular chain mail technique and you can not get this workmanship with run of the mill pieces.

Silver Cross With White Jade
A silver cross is a great present to give to religious people, but not only to them. Many young people wear silver crosses even without having a strong faith in God. It is the fashion these days, and it sells like hot cakes.
But don't think that you are limited to people who want to get a cross. It makes a perfect gift for condoleances along with a personalized letter, for a get well soon gift and for the elderly in general. For some reason, these silver crossed are some of my best sellers overall.
This piece is made of sterling silver encasing a white jade bead for that extra elegance

It is also known to give an extra boost to the rather shy and timid amongst us, and several people wear a hematite stone in their pockets when going for a new job interview.

Caring for your silver jewelry
After purchasing your silver jewelry, you need to know how to care for it, so that it lasts you for many, many years. Afterall silver jewelry has been often handed down from generation to generation. I still have two of my grandma's pendants which he got as birthday gift from my granddad when she was just 25.
So here are some important tips for you. Please read them carefully because they might be the difference between a long lasting piece and one that you'll never wear again.
- This tip is obvious, but I've seen many people simply ignoring it. Never let small kids tear a silver chair, be it dangling earrings or a silver necklace' from your body. This can not only tear the chain, but also hurt you in the process. Earrings torn out of your ear are NOT fun!
- Wear your jewelry often as this prevents silver from tarnishing. Due to the type of material, silver does tarnish when in contact with air. It is a property of silver that can't be avoided, and truth be told, often the antique silver jewelry is more precious when it is darkened than when it is sparkling white. However, if you want to keep your jewelry from tarnishing too fast, keep on wearing it.
- Store it in zip lock plastic bags so that it doesn't come all too often in contact with the air. I keep each of my pieces in separate zip lock bags. This not only make sure that it is tarnish free even years after I've first created them, but I can also see each piece right away, since the bags are see-through.
- Use a polishing cloth to polish your sterling silver jewelry from time to time. These cloths are not expensive and they last you for a long time. When I prepare the jewelry that I sold for shipping, I usually add as a gift a small polisher made of a special material that is excellent for polishing silver jewelry. This way you can use it on your jewelry as often as you like
- Don't use commercial cleaning solutions to clear your silver jewelry. These solutions are great for many things but not for sterling silver, despite what their labels say. Trust me, I know from personal experience. The first few times it might not matter but the ore often you dip it, the easier your silver piece will change color, and you will not be able to bring it back to the original color, no matter what. And this tip is especially useful for jewelry with semiprecious or precious stones.
