Handmade and Hand Painted Items At Etsy

Etsy is fabulous, Etsy is fun...Etsy is one of my very favorite websites! Not only because I love to create handmade items to sell there, but just looking at all the fine items there! They are so unique and so varied...it really is amazing!

From picture frames to digital scrapbook clip art and pages, men's wallets to wood working and everything in between. It is a wonderous place to visit and I am very happy to be a part of it! I love my Etsy shop and my dream is to stock it full of all sorts of arts and crafts. I'll never close up shop!

Besides creating ACEOs I love to paint on wood, baskets, old cupboard doors, glass and even rocks! I bead necklaces, make shrinky dink charms, digital art files, stained glass ornaments, tile magnets...oh, there's so much more!

It's easy to use Etsy too, setting up a shop is simple, you do have to figure out your own shipping fees, but you have small fees and five free pictures available to you! I could go on and on but I want to go over there right now and see what's new!

(My shop is on vacaton at the moment, until April 3rd, 2009)

Digital Art Collage Sheets by Cherie

Art for Digital Scrapbooks! I really enjoy creating art for selling via the email, digital art files that you can use to create your own scrapbook pages, Scrabble tile pendants, web pages, greeting cards, journals, clip-art for all sorts of projects, all you have to do is decide! You receive your 'digital art files' through the internet, no shipping fees! That's cool! If you want the images jpg, png or PDF, you just let me know! I don't want you to resell the package! These images are for small commercial use, making greeting cards and selling them with my clip art is fine, but not selling the sheets or combinations of my artwork on 'sheets' or as digital art files.

Painting Pots

A sampling of painting of terra cotta pottery!

Painting Flower Pots

Something that I've enjoyed creating since back in my 'hippie' days, are terra cotta flower pots. They are fun and easy to create and these are just a tiny sampling of the hundreds of pots I've painted over the years! I also LOVE to make coasters out of pot bottoms, the small lipped ones, which are very difficult to find nowadays. Enjoy!

Men's Outhouse Print

The STAR is for men!

Excerpt from www.outhouse.com

"Probably the most recognizable symbol associated symbol with the traditional outhouse building is the familiar crescent moon carved into the privy door. Actually, the symbol is an ancient one, and was a sign for womanhood in colonial days and on the frontier.

It's male counterpart, Sol, was either a star or a sun burst design also on the door. Since most male outhouses fell into disrepair rather quickly they seldom survived; while the female ones were better maintained, and were eventually used by both sexes. Although you can find outhouses still standing with the crescent moon, the original meaning for gender identification was lost by the later nineteenth century in most areas of the country."

Women's Outhouse Print

The MOON is for women!

We just do everything better! I mean look at the way we've kept our personal outhouses in much better shape than men for hundreds of years!

That's why most of theirs are gone!

Check out www.outhouse.com for more interesting facts on this historical structure!
