How Did I End Up Here?
Hi! My name is Wayne Jackson and I'm going to do something a little different.I grew up on a farm in rural Southern Ontario, and like most farming families we learned to make due with what we had. But more importantly, we learned to fix what needed fixing with what we had on hand. There were no big box hardware stores on every corner, and just making it over to town to visit our local hardware store proved challenging at the best of times.
As a "fifties-something" baby boomer, I never had the luxury of all the great gadgets the younger people have today. No calculators in my math class. All I had was that ancient device called a slide rule. If you're not sure what a slide rule is, its' a long, rectangular mechanical ruler that has a plastic slide that you move across the ruler body to figure out multiplication, division, etc. Have I lost you yet? It's what people used before calculators were invented.
But the funny thing is, even though I got to use a slide rule, half the time the teachers wouldn't allow it in the classroom. Go figure! All they would allow were pencils and erasers. (Or rubbers as we used to call them!) In school when I used rubber instead of eraser, I was told, "rubbers go on your feet."
Anyways, fast forward to the eighties when I started my own handyman business. Yep, I've been the local handyman in this area for over twenty-five years now. I've built quite the reputation for myself as the handyman who has a solution for practically anything and everything. As a matter of fact, I'm known as the "Handyone". My wife even bought me HANDYONE license plates for my work van on my 50th birthday!
I've also been a member of a successful online marketing company almost as long as I've been the local handyman.
Sometime in 1995 I started dabbling on the Internet. My first computer was a Zenith Easy PC where I managed to self teach myself MS DOS. This peaked my interest in computers so I bought an IBM Aptiva and learned Windows 95. I kept updating my computers and continue to teach myself everything I could about computers and the Internet. Guess you could say I'm one of those types of people that are just naturally attracted to learning and finding solutions.
Since 1997 I have been marketing my business online as well as other stuff I came across. It's been a tough go and I know I've spent much more than I have made but, I have FINALLY, yes FINALLY, found out what works and I'm really excited about it, and I want to share it with you!
I have found out that what I was doing before to market my business doesn't work, and I am learning what does work. I've made changes and have started implementing what I am learning, and guess what, it actually works!!
No kidding!
So here I am at the start of a brand new year, with brand new knowledge, and brand new ideas. Because I've always been known as the guy who comes up with solutions, I'd like to begin sharing what I'm learning with you. Whether you're a struggling network marketer, someone with a home-based business needing help to get it going online, or a homeowner that's looking for helpful tips for fixing stuff around the house, it is my intention to provide you with genuine solutions. I'll even throw in some helpful home repair tips!
And if you're wondering why a handyman would mix his online marketing and handyman skills together, you'll have to come back and read more of my blogs. There really is a method to my madness!
Have yourself a great day and I'll see you soon! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Feel free to leave your comments. I would love to hear what you have to say.

Do Something Different, Says Handyman
By now you're probably wondering, what's up with the handyman? Why is he combining online marketing with his handyman business?Well, the answer is simple.
I want to be different. You know, stand out from the crowd.
This is actually a key element to becoming a successful online marketer. Doing something different!
Let me tell you a little story.
When I began my handyman business back in the eighties, there were no other guys around doing any of the small jobs. They were all busy building new homes. No one was offering a service to take care of the existing homes that needed maintenance and repairs. That's where I came in.
I positioned myself in my area in such a way that I wouldn't be stepping on anyone's toes. There was no competition for me, so I was not affecting anyone else's business.
This was a key issue for me in starting up. It was important for me to not run anyone competition, and it has paid off very well.
Over the years, I have had many new 'handyman' services start up in my area. At first I was upset and even mad that someone had the balls to come into my area and run me competition.
But to my surprise, what happened was most of these guys were either not very good at home repairs, or they were called back to their 'other job' and quit their handyman business altogether.
I was amazed! It actually worked out very well for me. I ended up with a great deal of work from unhappy customers who paid these guys large, and I got to go in and fix their mess. Wow! I made a ton of money because of my competition.
So what does this have to do with online marketing? Everything, I say!
Online marketing is a very competitive business. There are many online marketers of which some are very successful, and there are many online marketers of which some are not so successful. I have been successful with my handyman business, I'm successful with my online business, and now I'm learning the strategies and secrets of successful online marketers.
As I mentioned above, a key element to becoming a successful online marketer is doing something different!
Well, I am doing something different by sharing what I have learned (and continue to learn) with you. I will provide you with genuine information and tips on how to make money in online marketing. I will tell you what is working for me and what is not working for me, and I'll point you in the right direction.
Kind of a 'handyman tells all' type of thing, even though it's about online marketing. With the added bonus of some helpful home repair tips that will save you time and money.
Stick with me and I guarantee you'll learn the secrets to make your online marketing business literally explode!! And I'll throw in a few of my favorite home repair tips as well
That's it for now.
Have yourself a great day and I'll see you soon!
By the way, if you have problems getting your ceiling paint to lay out and look good, use exterior flat white paint (latex) instead of ceiling paint. It lies out beautifully and looks great! And it's also washable.

You Can Pick My Brain, But Not My Nose
Wow, what an amazing quote. It really does speak for itself.
And it's especially true in today's market.
If you want to succeed and stand out from the rest of the crowd, give more in use value than you are taking in cash value.
In other words, give more of yourself and what you have to offer, and don't expect people to pay for something that doesn't hold much value for them.
No one likes to feel ripped off!
I have always run my handyman business by this principle. I like to 'go that extra mile' when it comes to my work, and it has paid off. Repeat business!
I hear many complaints from people that they were left in a mess once their work was done. Not so with me.
I am consistently praised from my customers on how clean I leave things, and most people remark they wouldn't have even known I was there except their job has been done.
This is a great way to have a relationship with my customers and it provides a win-win situation for everyone.
It's also what I practice in my online business.
Over the years of running my online business, I have hosted many meetings, spoke at many meetings, provided training and support, and have always been available to anyone in my downline who wants help with their business. It's really a great trade off. I help them in any way I can, and I am rewarded with higher commission cheques every month.
In my handyman business alone I get many calls and questions from people just 'picking my brain' looking for answers to some of their home repair questions. I really don't mind them 'picking my brain' because it always leads to more work. And besides, it's a whole lot better than having them pick my nose! I just wish I had a dollar for every question I've answered, I'd have gone fishing by now!
But seriously folks, like I said before, I really don't mind people 'picking my brain' because it always leads to more work. Once again, a great trade off and also my way of giving more in use value than I am taking in cash value.
Anyway, this concept works very well in network marketing and it also shows leadership - which is extremely important. The more you have to offer to the people on your team - and even the people you are prospecting - the more they will respect you, follow you, and want what you have to offer.
Don't be afraid to give a little extra without asking for anything in return, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at what happens in your business. It will really take off!
In the meantime, I'd like to give you something of value right now.
Here's a huge handyman tip that can save you a ton of money.
If you have a garbage disposal make sure to use cold water when you run it. Warm water doesn't dissolve grease very well and can leave a slimy residue build up inside the pipes. Cold water washes the grease down the drain and out into the sewer system. But be very careful, and this is important.
Don't use a garbage disposal if you are on a septic system. It will literally destroy your system. It's much cheaper to throw your leftover food into the garbage can then have to replace an entire septic system, which can cost a small fortune.
Have yourself a really great day and I'll see you soon!
