Who would have thought that the follow up album to the catchy but not-so-serious Hannah Montana soundtrack could be such a solid release, a solid DUAL release at that. Miley's two personas combine to deliver a power-pop fusion of rockin' tunes that span styles of pop, rock, and even a slight touch of country and reggae. Miley's raspy girl-next-door voice will certainly please Ashlee Simpson fans (if you don't believe me sample the track "As I Am"... she sounds just LIKE Ashlee), and some tracks deliver a good enough punch to draw even an Avril crowd. So what is the difference between these two personas?

Hannah Montana certainly is more teen power-pop, and Miley Cyrus has a slightly more refined, mature sound. Which is better? Both. I'll admit that I was drawn to the Hannah Montana album first, but now the "Meet Miley" album has caught my attention. Fun songs like "East Northumberland High" whose infectious chorus reminds teens that there is life after high school as Miley sings, "You're my type of guy I guess if I was stuck in East Northumberland High for the rest of my life but people change thank God I did." Miley (Destiny Hope) actually wrote most of the songs on the "Meet Miley Cyrus" CD, which is refreshing to know, and quite an accomplishment for this 14 year old. She happened to write a very notable cut, "Let's Dance," which has a Spanish-influenced vibe in its rhythm and guitar arrangements.

If you are looking for the "next Hilary Duff" look no more, yet I think Miley has more personality and spunk. This dual CD release should not be taken lightly nor seen as a Disney-star release. Miley Cyrus is the next... Miley Cyrus. Look out folks, she's here to stay, and this album proves it through and through. -- The Blue Raja (MD, USA)

Yep, it's hard to believe that a man of thirty-one years is writing a review of the "Hannah Montana" soundtrack but it's true. My daughter, age six, has always enjoyed the TV series that this soundtrack was put out in support of. She naturally wanted to get this disc and did so for her birthday a little over a month ago. Since then, I can't tell you how many times I've been subjected to my daughter singing many of the songs on this album. It is pure bubblegum pop. It's not too offensive nor is it too risque for the younger crowd. It's also easily digestable for parents of children enthralled with Miley Cyrus' portrayal of Montana. Despite being rather fluffy lyric-wise, these songs still manage to be better that pretty much all of today's reigning pop princesses. Cyrus' vocals are much better than the likes of Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne. She also seems like an altogether nicer person than either of them. I've always respected her father, who real fans of country music know spent many, many years trying to make it before hitting with "Achy Breaky Heart." The guy isn't as cheesy as you'd think, and is actually a truer country artist than most of today's mainstream stars like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. It appears that he and his wife are taking the right steps to prevent their daughter from turning into a teenage burn-out queen like Britney Spears or so many other teen stars who couldn't handle being on top.

Highlights of the album include the show's theme, "Best Of Both Worlds," "Who Said," and "This Is The Life." A few of the songs are from other artists and other than the Click Five's "Pop Princess," they are a definite step down from the pop quality of Cyrus' tracks.

Overall, I'd have to say that any person who really enjoys pop music will find that this is one of the better albums out there. It also looks as if many of its songs will have a longer shelf life than many other pop songs that are currently out there. Definitely buy this if you have a daughter between the ages of six and twelve. It's great music for them to listen to.

My niece is a big Hannah Montana watcher, so when I watch the show, I feel like I'm hanging out with her even though she lives 500 miles away. It gives me a look into her cultural world.
This cd features music from the show, and it is really catchy. "The Best of Both Worlds" is the opening theme, extolling the joys of being a star and a normal kid all at the same time.
"Just Like You" is a well crafted pop song where Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) reaches out and identifies with her young audience. There are also songs from the promising young girl group Everlife, Jesse McCartney, and Click Five.
This is music that doesn't delve into deep issues, but it is infectious and it will speak to young people, and best of all, it is clean. Recommended! -- Marc Axelrod (Potter, Wi USA)

Hannah Montana, Vol. 1 - Livin' the Rock Star Life

Can't actually review this yet since it is on pre-order but I can say that we enjoy the show. I am the mom, and I find the show is entertaining, one of the best on Disney Channel. Nothing objectionable ever, and the actors are well cast and work wonderfully together. We just saw Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana in concert with Everlife and the Cheetah Girls, it was the last show for Hannah Montana to be on this tour, and Miley's show was excellent. She is amazingly professional at such a young age, and has a lot of charisma and talent. We will be purchasing this DVD, and we already have the soundtrack with bonus video dvd on pre-order.

YES at 91 minutes it IS POSSIBLE to have up to 4 episodes and still have room for a short interview and bonus footage. I know because I studied TV production though I chose to work in another field after college. The Hannah Montana episodes are shown during a 1/2 hour time slot, however when you deduct the opening and closing scenes and all of the commercials, you are left with about 18 minutes of actual show. Even if there are 3 episodes plus the bonus episode, that is only 72 minutes, leaving almost 20 minutes for the interview and bonus footage. -- Lil MamaKitty "lilbit565" (Virginia Beach, VA United States)

That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana

My favrite things about this DVD was the beautiful Raven Symone, also Brenda Sing from "Wendy Wu" Hannah Montana rules!!!! She is such a good singer! The only thing that would make the show better is if she sang with Raven (yeahright, in my dreams!!! Some time Kim and me make up our dances to hannah montana's songs! Hannah Montana - Pop Star Profile

Hannah Montana is a cute show about a 14 year old girl living a double life. By day she is Miley Stewart, an average teen girl living an average life, but by night she's Hannah Montana, teen pop sensation. Miley usually likes to keep her second life on the down low but in this collection she is tempted to throw caution to the wind and reveal her secret to the world.

Jake Ryan, a famous TV actor, enrolls at Miley's school and unlike her he absorbs all the attention. Jake gets everything his heart desires while Miley starts to get shafted (her locker is even moved to the basement to make room for Jakes mega star locker). Miley gets really irritated with the way everyone drools over Jake when she is just as (and maybe even more) famous then he is. Later on, however, she starts to see another side of Jake Ryan and a little crush develops.

This collection contains four episodes all revolving around Miley and Jake's relationship:

The New Kid in School:
Jake Ryan enrolls at Miley's school. She gets irritated with the way he gets special treatment.

More Then a Zombie to Me:
Hannah Montana gets a role on Jake's TV show. Miley discovers that she really does like Jake.

Good Golly, Miss Molly:
Miley loses a video tape of her confessing her love for Jake. Somehow it ends up in his possession. She needs to get it back.

People Who Use People:
Miley and Jake 'date' other people to make each other jealous. Jake and Miley confess their feelings for each other and become a couple, for a few minutes anyway.
