Hannah Montana aka Miley Cyrus

Miley grew up on her parents farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee, attending The People's Church. While attending Heritage Middle School she was a cheerleader, and later attended Options For Youth. After starting her tv show, Miley has been taught by a private tutor during breaks in the taping.

Miley has an older half-brother, Christopher Cody. Trace, an older brother, an older sister, Brandi, and one younger brother, Braison.

Miley started acting long before her career as Hannah Montana began. When she was only nine years old she played a girl named 'Kylie' as a guest star on her father's tv series 'Doc.' She also had a role in Tim Burton's film, Big Fish in 2003, when she played Young Ruthie. The film credits listed her as Destiny Cyrus.

Miley also appeared in Rhonda Vincent's music video for "If Heartaches Have Wings."

She has also appeared on Colgate Country Showdown when her father was hosting the show.

It was when Miley Cyrus was twelve years old when her relationship with Disney began when she auditioned for, and got the lead role in Hannah Montana. A role that would rocket her to worldwide fame. She plays dual roles as Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana.

After spending years trying to rid herself of the southern accent, Disney wanted to revive it for the tv role. Strangely, Cyrus found herself auditioning her real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, to see if he would work as the father of her Hannah Montana character.

Now, with feature films added to her long list of achievements, and several more in the works, there seems to be no slowing down for this teen sensation.

With her music, acting, and endorsements, this teenager is making more in a year than most people could make in many lifetimes.

As could expected, Cyrus is good friends with many toher younger celebrities, including her shows co-stars Emily Osment and Mitchell Musso.

Other friends include Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron co-stars of the very successful tv movie High School Musical. She is also close to the stars of The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, including Brenda Song and Ashley Tisdale.

Miley stated on the The Oprah Winfrey Show that she looks up to Hillary Duff as a role model.

She also had a brief romantic relationship with fellow teen musical superstar, Nick Jonas. The relationship has since fizzled out.

Cyrus is also very generous with her vast fortune, donating $1 for every Hannah Montana concert ticket sold, to City of Hope, a cancer research organization.

On On September 24, 2007, rumors circulating on the Internet stated that Miley had a "Meltdown", and was pregnant. The rumors were proven to be just a hoax.

In 2008 Cyrus was somewhat attacked by many for her Vanity Fair photograph in which she was said to be topless. In actuality, she was not topless, but had a bed sheet covering herself. She had been told the photograph would be an artistic shot, and she was very upset when the backlash occurred.

The Cyrus Family are Christians, attending Church regularly, and have instilled good values in Miley and their other children.

She endorses Daisy Rock Guitars...starting in 2004 when was was given a Stardust Series Acoustic Electric Pink Sparkle Daisy Rock Guitar by her parents.

Her well known line of Hannah Montana clothing was released in late 2007. Miley actually helped to design some of the clothing in her line. As she puts it, "It's not a costume. A tween girl isn't doing dress-up, they want to look like they could be Hannah Montana's friend. This is a fashion line."

Yes, she's also a writer.

In 2008, Miley completed a book on her life and career. The Disney Book Group bought the rights to the book for a seven figure sum. It is scheduled for a Spring 2009 release by Disney-Hyperion Books.

Miley Cyrus is a hard working girl that is rewarded very handsomely for her efforts. I'm sure that any tween girl would happily do her work for a whole lot less though. I would go as far to say that nearly every young girl would even pay to be Hannah Montana, or just to be a friend to Miley Cyrus.

Possibly the final recognition of having made it, is her own wax figure in Madame Tussauds wax museum.

Miss Cyrus celebrated her 16th. birthday by having a fundraiser at Disneyland. The park was closed for the event, and only the 5,000 ticket-holders (at $250 per ticket) were in attendance.

The money raised went to the youth charity, Youth Service America, a youth volunteering organization. Ten outstanding volunteers from the organization were invited to attend the event. Miley presented a one million dollar check to Youth Service America.

It's actions like this that helped her to be chosen as one of America's top ten most fascinating people of 2008 for a Barbara Walters ABC Television special that aired on Dec. 4, 2008.
