The Pursuit of Happiness, The Pursuit of Happyness and the "Happiness Pursuit"
The Pursuit of Happyness is an awe-inspiring story of one man's (Chris Garner) courage and determination to achieve a stable life for himself and his son. The Pursuit of Happyness is a book written by the man who endured this happiness pursuit, Chris Gardner, and a 2006 film starring Will Smith.
This lens "Happiness Pursuit" (purposefully using bad English just like the film title), focuses on breathing life into the inspirational themes from
The Pursuit of Happyness: hard work, courage and determination in creating a better standard of life, the common human pursuit of happiness that we are involved in, and example-based (positive) education of children.
It is hoped that people can use these materials to create their own connections between the film's themes and their own lives. Chris Gardner shows us an example of courage, determination and hard work at achieving a goal, and whether we like it or not, we are all involved in this same pursuit of just one goal - happiness.

Human Nature, the Pursuit of Happiness and the American Dream
When Human Nature Gets in the Way of the Pursuit of Happiness

"If, according to the Declaration of Independence, we are all entitled to 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,' why does it so often seem that we are pursuing the unattainable?" - Michael Laitman, in "
The Pursuit of Happiness."
The American Dream, the courageous pursuit of success so well captured in
The Pursuit of Happyness, is taken to the scientist's lab in
this argumentative piece by Michael Laitman.
According to Laitman, the essence of the American Dream contains an inherent flaw that will never allow it to come true: "it ignores human nature."
Human nature is defined in
this article as being "to exploit the lives of all other people in the world for one's own benefit." According to this definition of human nature, Laitman argues that precisely because we are only aiming our happiness toward ourselves, we are not achieving happiness. Moreover, according to Laitman, this is the cause of the global crisis and the increasing pains we are now witnessing.
Laitman continues by stating that by changing our self-aimed pursuit of happiness to a pursuit of happiness aimed at making the whole of humanity happy, only then can we achieve and experience true happiness.
