Top 5 Heavy Thrash Videos
Part 1
Ok, so after I was thinking about the top 5 thrash metal bands, I realized thrash metal covers a variety of great bands that could not be singled out to just five, so this is part 1 and below is part 2. I broke them up into two categories for now, the first being hardcore thrash, with heavier vocals and the second being more of thrash metal with higher pitched vocals. If some one knows of different classifications I could seperate them into drop me a line in the comments.
My top 5 Thrash Metal Videos
Part 2
It's hard to mention thrash Metal without mentioning the big three that personlly got me to crossover from a headbanging metal maniac to a thrashin' mosher. The big three of course, Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The only one that I felt was worthy to be listed here, however, was Anthrax. Sure Metallica and Megadeth, were two of the all time great Speed thrash metal bands, but that was in the day of Peace Sells, and Master of Puppets. To hear them now, well, I'll just say their not the same. Another note Kreator could could easily be moved into the category above, but they had to be mentioned, so they are here.
Top 5 Old School Punk Rock Videos
Part 1
Once again it's more difficult then I thought to just come up with 5 punk rock videos. Each section here only allows for 5 so I have broken Punk Rock down into oldschool (bands that were around in the eighties) and new bands that are still active. Of course some of the oldschool punk rock bands are still active, but still, their old. ;-)

Centered on the early '80s punk movement, this remains the best of Penelope Spheeris's three attempts to chronicle the musical and angst-ridden subculture of urban Los Angeles. The film's style, like the music, is abrasive, frank, and packed with energy, as it moves swiftly from hilarious band and fan interviews to the loud, raucous shows inside seedy L.A. nightclubs. Despite its tongue-in-cheek title, Spheeris neither condemns, nor glamorizes, the movement, though she definitely has an eye for talent and thankfully plays favorites. Lesser acts like Alice Bag Band and Catholic Discipline are given minimal screen time (enough so we understand why they've been forgotten) in favor of bands that either possess off- stage charisma (Circle Jerks) or onstage potency (Fear's finale, winding their audience up with insults, is punk in its purest form). And, then there are X and Germs lead singer, Darby Crash. These two subjects comprise the majority of the film, as Spheeris hangs around their houses, captures numerous performances, and presents the movement's peak performers. While X does it mostly onstage--their mix of thrash and rockabilly are the most enjoyable of the live performances--Crash's stage is everywhere. A walking disaster, the singer candidly details--with simultaneously self-mocking humor and sadness--his drug abuse, miserable life, and the places that no longer let him play. The fact that he died shortly after production stamps Spheeris's brazen time capsule with a morbid, though appropriate, epitaph. --Dave McCoy
Top 5 newer (current) Punk Bands
Sorry, man, it's pretty sad when it's 2008 and I can't even think of 5 newer punk rock bands that are worth mentioning. Help me out, add your favorite. Thanx!
Total Chaos and Rancid were obvious choices, Bad Brains is really oldschool punk, but they have recently reunited with original singer HR, and are putting out new music again, and I added the Tossers and the Dropkick Murphys just cause I wanted to get to 5 and have really been diggin' the irish punk as of late.
So what do you think?
I want to know if I left out your favorite or if you think I have a thrash band in the punk section, etc, etc, etc or if you don't care at all, let me know that too.
If got your favorites let me know that too
