Your muscles then have to repair themselves, so they use protein chains in order to start repairing and filing in the tears that the muscle has sustained. These repairs is what causes the muscle to grow in size.
Alright so now that you know the very basics of how your muscles grow, I will explain why carbs and protein are important. Carbohydrates are what gives your body fuel, carbs are broken down into simple sugars and provide your body with energy.
Proteins are the building blocks of the body, these are the nutrients that are going to help repair your muscles, and provide your body with what it needs to build.
