Harrison Ford is living proof that an iconic film role does not have to be the kiss of death for a career. After playing Han Solo in the Star Wars trilogy and Indiana Jones in the Raiders of the Lost Ark series, he went on to acclaim in such movies as Bladerunner, Witness, Presumed Innocent and Air Force One, as well as taking up the mantle as Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger. Ford is still going, currently appearing in the thriller Firewall. This lens will provide information about Ford's life and career.

Indiana Jones
When George Lucas moved on from Star Wars, he took up a project with friend Steven Spielberg to make a movie that recalled the Saturday morning serials they'd loved in their youth. the result was Raiders of the Lost Ark, which follow the adventures of Indiana Jones, an archaeologist looking for the lost Ark of the Covenant, reported to hold the actual 10 Commandments. It had everything. Action, adventure, Nazis, cannibals, and Harrison Ford.
Ford went on to play Indy in two more films, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Lost Crusade, the latter with Sean Connery. (Ford reportedly objected, at first, citing the fact that Connery isn't actually old enough to be his father, but fortunately he relented and the result is spectacular.)
A fourth film of the series is set to begin production this year.
The Adventures of Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark/ Temple of Doom/ Last Crusade) - Widescreen Edition
Interestingly, this appears to be the only way to get the second and third films on DVD.
Bladerunner
based on Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream Electric Sheep, the film shows the near future world in which androids, or replicas, are so nearly human that it takes an expert to recognize them. Ford plays Rick Deckard, whose job it is to "retire" applicants who are causing problems or trying to avoid their built-in expiration date.
Blade Runner (The Director's Cut)
The theater release had a significantly altered ending. here's the original.
