nice topic i enjoyed it reading

It was definitely better than the 6th book, but it contained far more imagery and hidden meaning than most children would understand. It was as if Rowling was trying too hard to make it for adults, too. What she didn't seem to grasp was that adults liked it from the beginning so she was just alienating a certain portion of her audience.
  • concept247 Sep 11, 2011 @ 9:27 am | delete
loved this book and the movie was the best one by far!
  • greenhairedsamurai Aug 18, 2011 @ 10:42 am | delete
I'm a big Harry Potter fan. I've watched all the sequels but I still find the books to more interesting and very detailed compared to the movies.

Nice lens! I haven`t read the books of Harry Potter but I have seen all the movies. I like them. Especially the end of the last movie (Harry`s transformation into a grown up and responsible person) was a pozitive surprise for me.
  • jm72writes Jul 19, 2011 @ 9:29 pm | delete
Great lens. I could read Harry Potter books forever. There will never be another series like it.
  • lemonsqueezy Jul 19, 2011 @ 10:05 am | delete
It totally lived up to my expectations. I am eager to see the final movie. I can't believe it is over. I started reading the series when my daughter, now a teen, was born. Oh my goodness! sniff, sniff

J.K. Rowling is an amazing writer, and The Deathly Hallows did her justice. Thanks a lot for posting an excellent lens about the last installment of the series!
  • Jeannieinabottle May 8, 2011 @ 4:10 pm | delete
I started reading the Harry Potter series 2 years ago, so I was lucky enough to have all of the books to read back to back. I will say it is a little overwhelming that way. The Deathly Hollows kind of bummed me out. It just did not turn out as I expected, but I will not give away any secrets.
  • Vcize Jan 15, 2011 @ 11:35 pm | delete
Can't wait for part 2 of the Deathly Hallows movie. The 1st one wasn't as good as it could have been but I think they were saving some money for a huge finale.
  • Glenn619 Jan 13, 2011 @ 7:05 am | delete
i loved the last book only thing i was sad that it was all going to end here.
  • JodiVee Jan 12, 2011 @ 12:54 pm | delete
I haven't read the last book because the writing style turned me off completely. It looked like a total rush-job -- Ms. Rowling was working fast to meet a deadline -- and seemed longer than necessary. That said, I loved the preceding books, especially the first :)
  • LissaKlar Dec 14, 2010 @ 11:07 am | delete
I'm the biggest Harry Potter fan! I read all the books before I read them over to my daughter from the ages of 5-10. Then we read them again before the last couple movies came out. We can't get enough. I have some Harry Potter related lenses. It seems like that's all we've been thinking about at our house since right before this last one came out. My daughter's 11. I wonder how long her enthusiasm will last! Thanks for this lens.
  • BelindaBlevins Nov 25, 2010 @ 7:20 pm | delete
I really liked the story, but it was extra sad at some of characters who where killed.
  • wadestar Nov 21, 2010 @ 4:37 pm | delete
The first part of the final instalment has got some pretty bad reviews in the UK so far I hope they are talking rubbish. Great lens by the way. Thanks a million!
  • JackBandit Nov 16, 2010 @ 12:13 pm | delete
I only read the first three books, and then decided Harry Potter and I should respectfully part ways. But... my girlfriend absolutely ADORES Harry Potter, so we've been watching all the movies together recently (as you can certainly imagine, she is incredibly excited for the new movies... even though she already knows exactly what happens :P )

And, since she's so excited, I can't help but be a bit excited too. Wasn't too big a fan of the books... but the movies are actually quite fun, and have been improving with each successive installment!
  • Kimbesa Oct 25, 2010 @ 7:11 am | delete
So many cliff hangers! Looking forward to the movie late in 2010, and the second part in 2011.

Congratulations on LOTD on this lens Fluffy, (not sure when you got that). Was just browsing around and saw this title, and stopped by. I lensrolled it to my new Harry Potter lens. Once again, a very good lens. ~ I noticed while doing a twitter search, that just searching for Harry will find Harry Potter. Pretty popular...

I LOVED it all SOOO much! Can't wait for the movie to come out! I wish J.K Rowling would make a series of all of the kids, or see harry and his friends as adults.

Im an adult but i still had to preorder this book, and i was just waiting for the mail on the day it was suppoed to come. About 2weeks later i set it down, finished and i have to say that i was almost sad. She got rather carried away at the end.
  • JustaDateMovieDOTcom Jun 29, 2010 @ 8:19 pm | delete
I worked in a bookstore when this series first came out, and I stayed away from it. I thought it was all hype. A few years later, after the first movie came out (which I also avoided) I gave it a shot ... and fell in love. JK Rowling has created a magical world, and I'm only too sad Harry's story has come to an end.
  • Airinka Apr 14, 2010 @ 1:17 pm | delete
I think, that I am the only one, who didn't like Harry Potter :)))).
  • lasertek Jan 7, 2010 @ 7:38 pm | delete
I was both shocked and saddened after I read the last book. I was shocked with the revelations and the outcome and saddened because the story has come to its end. The Harry Potter series truly is one great book that each and every person must read. 5*

Harry Potter is the bomb!! Great lens!!
  • grace Apr 5, 2008 @ 9:28 am | delete
I thought that the whole book-the whole series, for that matter- was completely amazing. I wouldn't change a single thing if I could, including the epilogue. If it had been any longer, it would have been really cheesy. I LOVE HP!!!
  • MaxMow Mar 25, 2008 @ 3:26 pm | delete
I was a bit disappointed with the ending.
  • diabolic Mar 6, 2008 @ 10:07 am | delete
You can go online to interview by JK Rowling and find out what happens to all the other characters in the future.
  • Margaret_McKinney Feb 27, 2008 @ 4:26 pm | delete
I was disappointed in the epilogue. I wanted to know what happened to everyone in the later years and I would have gladly waited longer for a better one. After 7 books full of details, I thought Rowling's epilogue was pathetic.
  • LeslieBrenner Feb 24, 2008 @ 11:35 am | delete

All has been revealed all the long held questions...I wish she would make a book after Harry Potter. People within the same universe but no longer relates to him directly.
  • EelKat Aug 18, 2007 @ 1:21 pm | delete
Can't say as I'm very happy with how HP7 ended... I mean... killing off the greatest character in the series! He was the only reason I was reading ANY of the Harry Potter books! My brothers were into the books before the movies, but it took Alan Rickman in the movie to get me to read the book.
  • FunkyFlower16 Aug 17, 2007 @ 3:45 pm | delete
I absolutely LOVED it! it was the most well written book, and everything fitted like a puzzle. JK Rowling an absolutely AMAZING writer and she made everything seem so real, especially the part where harry decides to die to save everyone. i was delighted when harry re-met dumbledore. its my fav bk :)
  • arnold Aug 13, 2007 @ 12:33 am | delete
    fascinating and enchanting...
  • Camp Aug 1, 2007 @ 3:16 pm | delete
Characterization was stronger in this book than any other. Maybe because we see everyone through Harry's eyes and he is maturing. Anyway, the book is so packed with detail and action, I'm surprised it only took her two years..great book to a great series
  • Joseph Jul 31, 2007 @ 4:30 pm | delete
Wow! I loved it! Made me appreciate life and love...really well written and developed. Twists you would never expect. Even the parts where Harry was just chillin, it still kept me reading all night long! Came out at midnight, finished it at ten o'clock the next morning! WOW

I read it in 2 days, and now I am going back to read it again more slowly. This book is darker and more frightening, people that I was fond of got killed off. I am sorry it is over, even though it leaves you with hopes for the future. Mind you, perhaps the future will be a little more boring??
  • elsaivymom Jul 26, 2007 @ 12:09 am | delete

Can't get a hold of the book anywhere locally - sold out in hours. Can't wait to formulate my own opinion - lol. Congrats on LOD - well done! - Two Minute Mysteries
  • Steve Jul 24, 2007 @ 2:01 pm | delete
BORING. Page after page of Harry doing nothing. Then a jump that leaves you wondering what they cut out. I don't think I will ever finish this book because it keeps putting me to sleep.
  • Courtney Jul 24, 2007 @ 9:26 am | delete
The best book of the series, by far. It was exceptionally written. I had only a few gripes about the way things were wrapped up. It ran the gamut of emotions: sadness, happiness, relief, you name it, it was probably there. Its nice to have some closure. Awesome!

I loved this book. I read it fast, the first time, just to know how it ends. I read it slower a second time, because in my haste I had missed so much. How did that work? What did Dumbledore...? etc. Thrilling, exciting, and very well written.
  • James Jul 23, 2007 @ 7:15 pm | delete
I'm feeling a little empty now that the series is over. I'd like to hear about lily and rose and james and albus' adventures at hogwarts...you know maybe a series for the next generation about the next generation

I got my copy at 12:15,read a taste and finally finished last night.I was mesmerized, when I wasn't reading it I
was dreaming it.I cried, rejoiced, smiled and glowed reading this mature full bloom book where my friends took on reality amidst fantasy.
  • GypsyPirate Jul 23, 2007 @ 12:25 pm | delete
I was happy to see that all but 1 of my own guesses about where she would go with the story were correct, and I enjoyed the book very much. So, what's next? Will Harry Potter inspire a series of books of continuing adventures similar to those following the first Star Wars trilogy?
  • Mike Jul 22, 2007 @ 9:10 pm | delete
The book was a brilliant end to an unforgiving series. The losses, the gains and the struggle between good and evil couldnt have been portrayed better and at a level where even though Harry and friends have aged the readers hadnt not to,to be able to understand and enjoy the book.
  • Julia Jul 22, 2007 @ 5:24 pm | delete
I really like the book and even thought JK wrapped up some loopholes, I think she left others for us to ponder about...

I bought my copy and immediately took it home to read it. It took me about 5 hours time total to finish the book but then I'm a fairly quick reader. I was amazed and gratified. It made me lol, cry and be proud. I hope JKR writes more at least in that world, if not about Harry and friends.
