Harry Potter Latest!

As the final installment of the Harry Potter franchise is about to hit the stands,I am saddened by the fact that after this book there is nothing more to look forward to.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (the 7th and the final book of Harry Potter series) is set for a worldwide release on the 20th of July, 2007.The success of the novels has made Joanne Kathleen Rowling (a.k.a. J.K.Rowling) the highest earning novelist in literary history.

J.K.Rowling got the idea for Harry Potter while on a train from Manchester to London. According to her, by the time she reached King Cross Station most of the characters had taken shape in her head. The first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the US) was released in 1997.

I started reading Harry Potter at the age of 13. Even now six years later, I am still as crazy about it as I was then. At that time only the first four books had released.

The fifth book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix released on 21st June, 2003. Then on 16th July 2005 the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince released. As I was one of the first hundred customers at the bookstore I got the book for free. I had to go down there at 3 AM but it was totally worth it.

The books mainly revolves around a young wizard called Harry Potter and his fight against lord Voldemort, the most powerful Dark Wizard of all times and is set at Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry, a school for young aspiring wizards.

The six books have sold more than 300 million copies and have also been translated into 63 languages.The seventh and final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is,as mentioned earlier, due for release on 21st July,2007.
