Harry Potter Page to Screen
The Complete Filmmaking Journey
The book of Bob McCabe tells us from begining to end how the books where transformed into films. All in one complete volume with over a 500 pages. and over a 2000 photographs, illustrations and behind the scene documents!!! And what makes these pictures all the more extraordinary and valuable to the discerning reader is the fact that many of them were taken on set, during the making of the films, and apart from the photographs there are also full-color paintings in glorious detail.
You find in the book how Hogwarts Castle, The Ministry of Magic and Malfoy Manor where build. You'll discover how the characters like Harry, Ron, Hermione developed and grew throughout the films. Can you still remember the first film ? It's already 10 years ago when it was shot. So much has happened in the meantime, more characters, more locations. You can read it all in depth in Bob McCabe's beautiful book.
As said before, although Bob is a good friend of mine and perhaps that's why I'm over enthusiastic as well, I also would recommand it if I hadn't known him. You can read more review from less "biased" readers here., if you don't belief me ;-)

- I read books 3&4 after having a couple plot questions in the 4th movie, but found that the movies actually told the story better than the books. Haven't read them all but wasn't that impressed with the quality of the writing in 3&4.
