Definitely Harry Potter, I fell asleep during the first LOTR movie. I got through the books more easily but they never grabbed me. I suppose I liked the world of Harry Potter because its setting is set (more or less) in modern times.

Definitely Lord of The Ring. Lord of The Ring is masterpiece books ever written. It even have their own language. And some of the elements in LOTR is being copied by Harry Potter.
