    There is a man at our local farmers market who sells hand-turned wands. They are gorgeous.

    We have a selection of wands at our house! Most of them came from Olivanders at Universal Wizzarding World of Harry Potter.

    We bought our wands after the first movie, replicas of both Harry's and Hermione's. We have carried them with us for various events. At the last movie my husband had brought along another wand he had in his collection (well he is a wizard!) There was a young boy sitting near us who was very excited telling his dad about all the characters. When the movie was over, my husband got the dad's attention and gave the boy his wand. The dad smiled and said, "The wand chooses the wizard." I'll be he will never forget that movie.

    I'll need my wand for the last movie, coming out soon. Should I get Harry's Hermoine's or Dumbledore's (the third Hallow)? It could be a tough choice. Thanks for this showcase!

    Now here's a collectible I could get into.
    I wish I'd thought to write it down. Paul, somewhere in the Skymall "toys for geeks" catalog, there was a TV remote that looked like a magic wand, and operated by accelerometer technology so that you could change channels, play/stop DVDs, and all the usual stuff with wizardly gestures instead of buttons. If you could find it, it might be a good fit for this lens!

    These wands really are fabulous! I bought one for my son last year and he loves it. As a matter of fact, he liked it so well that he purchased two for his friends too. Totally awesome!
