Harry Potter Lego
Set includes step-by-step color diagramsshowing how to complete the model. The set is modeled so that, when constructed, it recreates the look and feel of the Order of the Phoenix film. Several unique rooms are represented here, including the Room of Requirement, where Harry can get just about anything he wishes (provided he walks past it three times). The greenhouse provides a place where Hermione can tend a potted mandrake, which is included. There's even a fireplace through which Harry could exchange messages with Sirius Black, only there are no owls included. The accessory pieces of the set are loads of fun. It includes orange flames, tiny goblets, trophy ribbons, jewels, magic books, charts and many other interesting pieces.
While most Lego playsets come with just a few minifigs, this one is packed with almost the entire cast. Harry and his companions Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are included, along with Hogwarts staffers Hagrid, Professors Dumbledore, Snape, and the evil Dolores Umbridge. Potter will also have to contend with his nemesis, a newly designed Draco Malfoy who sports a mischievous grin, and a Death Eater. The playset also introduces two Thestral minifigs modeled after the large, winged, skeletal horses from the fifth installment.
With almost a thousand pieces, kids between 7 and 12 will likely take a few hours to put it all together into a finished playset. Fortunately, Lego includes colorful, step-by-step diagrams that makes construction--pardon me for saying it--a snap. And unlike other, non-Lego playsets, this can be broken down and re-assembled into many different combinations.

Harry Potter Lego Slytherin
There are 5 possible minifigs in this set. First you have Draco Malfoy, then Crabbe & Goyle -- all in Slytherin robes with black capes. But if you turn the heads of Crabbe & Goyle you see the faces of Harry and Ron! It's a nice idea if you can ignore that the alternate faces peek out on the backs of their necks. Slytherin House is themed in Hogwarts dungeon colours of grey and black with a dash of green. There are two main aspects in this set -- a potion section which I assume represents the Polyjuice potion so that one can have Harry & Ron transform into the two members of Slytherin and find out what Malfoy knows about the Chamber of Secrets. The other aspect is a the actual room, which (as pictured on the back of the box) can fit on top of the Troll on the Loose bathroom set. There are some great suggestions for alternate builds of the set on the back of the box as well as a picture of how all the sets in the Harry Potter theme can fit together. For the price this set has some nice minifigs, semi-transparent pieces, and 2 black snakes.

This is an extraordinarily detailed LEGO set, with almost 600 pieces that form four related Harry Potter scenes. Though the finished product makes for a fun play world--with intricate castle chambers and a whole host of Potter characters--this is really more like a 3-D puzzle than a toy. For younger kids who don't have the patience to wade through the novella-length instruction booklet, the set may end up in a big, hopeless muddle.
