The Meadow seeks recognition

Publication of a great story is only the beginning. Now it has to find its rightful place amongst the bookshelves with all the other fantastic works of fiction. This can only happen when it is brought into people's awareness.

"The Meadow" has taken two and a half years to write and the authors do not intend for it to take that long to gain momentum as it reaches public scrutiny.

We rely on the power of the Internet and the tools which are available to us.

There are many potential readers out there and using the right approach by using this facility will go a long way to helping us achieve our goals.

The physical meadow versus the celestial watering hole called "The Meadow"

Which would you choose?

Photobucket

Above is a beautiful photo of a real meadow somewhere. Once you begin to read "The Meadow" your mind will possibly take you to another world and let you experience a meadow from another dimension -- a celestial watering hole where souls go to rest between physical lives.

See the painting further down and see what conjures in the minds of the two authors who wrote "The Meadow"

The Feathers

One from an eagle and the other from an owl

This is how the story begins, with a legend, where two tail feathers are cast from an eagle and an owl in an aerial display. To the right is a close up depicting them in the painting of "The Meadow".

TODAY HARRY POTTER - TOMORROW THE MEADOW

Harry has grown up and it's time to retire. Let The Meadow replace him

Who could have dreamed that a geeky boy with spectacles, who looks more like the Milky Bar Kid than a real literary hero, could have brought so much wealth and success to J K Rowling? She is now the most successful author of all time and this is thanks to an idea whereby she would bring fantasy into the hearts and minds of people, both young and old.

I'm pretty sure that she only intended to create a hero suitable for children of a certain age, where there was no present child-character to fill such a large void. Perhaps she wanted something for her own children or nephews and nieces, not being satisfied with what she could find on the bookshelves. She certainly found it, and now with seven highly successful books spawning seven movies, J K is to be congratulated. Well done J K. I'm not a Harry Potter buff, but you certainly provided the inspiration and motivation I needed.

However, I'm curious to know exactly what the appeal is which caused the Harry Potter saga to be purchased by up to one twentieth of the global population. Fantasy seems to be the key. People are more than happy to have their minds occupied with fun and adventure in a dimension where almost anything is possible. So who am I to argue with this?

About three years ago I came across someone over the Internet who encouraged me to get an idea, which had been lodged in my head for far too long, manifested into the written word. This person eventually became my writing partner and between us, without ever meeting face to face, we created "The Meadow". Here, the fantasy is more of a desire within each of us because everything written is based on natural laws.

The story begins with an ancient legend which forecasts that when two people in love find two special feathers, symbolically representing the law of attraction, then that love will live on for ever. Try understanding how love can live on without the earthly body and you will discover that there is a novel that has been written which covers two people who have been designated to demonstrate to an unbelieving world how a life can be truly lived over many, many lives.

As with all good novels, "The Meadow" is not short of all the ingredients that will grip the reader, especially when they witness a nemesis who is hell-bent on achieving the downfall of these two souls as they move on through life after life, covering thousands of years, in their desperate attempt to unite. This nemesis has had his way for far too long as our heroes meet during several lifetimes but never reach that bonding stage where they can prove their love to the world. Each time that they are thwarted by those who hate them, they have to find each other in the celestial watering hole called The Meadow.

This is the place where souls, who have unfinished business in the physical world, go to rest in between lives. There is a strong message in this novel and the idea that reincarnation can be conceived as something that is very real is meant only to provide that seed of curiosity. It is not an imposition. I'll leave that kind of stuff for the Establishment who certainly will not be happy when they witness the introduction of "The Meadow" - a novel that allows Harry Potter breathing space to finally grow up and let another genre take his place.

THE AMAZING INTELLIGENCE AND ARTISTRY OF AN ELEPHANT

This is an amazing video of an elephant painting an elephant

You may think that this is a weird title huh? I agree -- it is. To be quite honest, I couldn't come up with a more suitable title. I'll only know how effective it is by the numbers it attracts. Perhaps once someone reads and views the video, they'll pass on this unbelievable phenomenon to others.

Okay, so we know people paint other people -- right? And some do a great job, including great detail -- right?

So how about an elephant painting another elephant live on camera? Now I've got your attention! This video is eight or so minutes long and shows quite clearly how an elephant can paint a picture better than most humans are able to. You don't believe me? Then watch this video "Original Elephant painting." I could not believe my eyes.

Who is this man?

He's a character from "The Meadow"

A man and a boy have a very special connection between them. There is a common demoninator and that is a clue in itself. Find out when you read "The Meadow".
Silhouette of a man

Could the man be the hero or the 'baddy'? The point is that the 'goody' and the 'baddy' are characters that are part of "The Meadow". Perhaps you can't decide yet. When you read the book then maybe you can make that choice.

The hero is a professor of mathematics and an expert in martial arts. The 'baddy' is an expert in neuro linguistic training and sophisticated electronics and is also an expert in martial arts.

One has been stalking the other for countless years. You can find out for how long when you read "The Meadow".

Some of the locations used in "The Meadow"

Get a feel for the story when you see some of the locations that are used

All the places mentioned in "The Meadow" are real, even Thorp Pelkington which you will not find on a map no matter how detailed. Here are just some of them. Watch out for more in other lenses.

Beamish Open Air Museum is such a marvellous place. No wonder we chose this as a location in "The Meadow."

Above right is the high street in the museum and below is a very important picture. This is where our female protagonist, Eva, meets up with the monk Chong-ba. The information he has for her changes her life completely. From here on the adventure really comes to life and things get messy.

The Meadow sounds fascinating and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.
I am fortunate to know one of the authors, Elfreda Pretorius and can assure you that she is talented, qualified spiritually and an undiscovered gem.

The Meadow novel

A story of undying love over thousands of years through many different lives

Release your conditioned mind and understand that life is eternal, whether it be in the mind, the soul or the body. Life goes on regardless, and we follow it every step of the way in "The Meadow".

Themeadowblog -- a tool used to follow "The Meadow"

This story illustrates how life can be truly eternal when love carries two souls through many lives

Past lives or reincarnation can either be a buzz word or one that upsets those of a religious belief that contradicts their philosophy. From a logical point of view, it is the opinion of both authors that all lessons can not be learnt in just one earthly life time. "The Meadow" and its storyline is based around this concept. I hope to see this feed search improve each time a new group is found until I see "The Meadow" being illustrated each time.

Watch out for my personal avatar

The Phoenix rising from the ashes combined with an outline of a female's head

In 1986 I was under a great deal of stress. My mother was dying of cancer and I was undergoing horrendous business relationships with my equal partner.

My mother died, coinciding with my decision to go it alone and break the partnership and form a new business.

I commemorated this by designing this emblem/logo in memory of my late mother and in recognition of a new start in business.

It has remained with me ever since and has accompanied many articles that I have written, as well as being the company logo that accompanied all business administration.

A little girl picking up a baby sparrow

"Sparrow in my hand" is the personal Avatar of my writing partner, Elfreda. Drawn by her son, it commemorates a turning point in her life when that same son, at the age of seven, overcame life threatening injuries sustained in an accident. This is his vision of his mother as a little girl, wondering how to save a baby sparrow that fell from its nest - the same way she wondered how to help him survive all those years ago. "Sparrow in my hand" is the book of his healing they intend to write in the near future.
