Wonderful lens about a simple topic. You are an ace lens maker and I honestly wished I had made it. I have chosen your lens for Honestly Day. Thanks again and again for your valuable information and skills. Just tried a great apple cake at my friend's house, but as of yet do not have the recipe.

We used to have lots of apple trees in the garden. I love apples in any shape. They taste the best to me when eaten while still seating on tree ;) Great yummy lens. Thanks.

I don't think I've ever tried a Macintosh or a Cortland apple; I don't think they're as easily available in the St. Louis area. I love local Gala and Honeycrisp apples, though, as well as local Granny Smiths!

Nice lens. I had one of those apple corers, but I don't know what went with it. Will have to get a new one.

My favortie apple is Cox's Orange Pippin. Right now I've got lots in my garden, so I'm searching great apple recipes. Blessed, and featured on my Blackberry and apple crumble lens.

Oh yum, this sounds delicious! I used to love picking our own fruit as a kid but the places are becoming few and far between here in England as sadly the demand has dropped so much. We have several apple trees however so have a plentiful supply of apples - and I'm going to try some of them out in this recipe, it sounds wonderful!

    One word:YUM!
  • aj2008 Aug 12, 2011 @ 10:40 am | delete
Your apple cake recipe is very similar to the Dutch Apple Cake that my daughter makes and soon we will be able to use the apples from out trees :)

The apple peeling machine is a must for anybody who likes to make anything with pies!!
  • grandmaowl Dec 1, 2011 @ 9:04 pm | delete
I have an apple peeling device and don't use it as I hate the way it slices apples. Until something better comes along, I'll do it the old fashioned way, thank you.

Fabulous lens about my favorite fruit. I was so happy to see wheat germ as an ingredient in the cake too. I'm making an apple apron lens and will link this one for sure!

What a gorgeous page. My mom used to make what she called "raw apple cake," that is almost the same as this. Absolutely delicious. SquidAngel blessed, rolled to squid-in-new-england.
