Welcome to Harvest Moon
Here you'll find a list of Harvest Moon games with story summaries.
The Harvest Moon series of games are fun farming simulation video games that have appeared on various gaming consoles since the days of the Super Nintendo. They offer the player character the ability to grow crops, care for animals, and live a rural life, even courting, marrying, and having a child if that's the player's wish. Originally the player character was always male, but recent games have offered the choice to play a female character as well, recognizing the games' popularity with gamers of both genders.
They're rated E for Everyone, and are family friendly games with adorable graphics. My kids love the pets and livestock aspects the best, playing with the cute animals the most, while their father and I enjoy the gameplay.
The Latest Harvest Moon Game for the Wii
Harvest Moon: Animal Parade
Released in North America on Nov. 10, 2009.
Just like Tree of Tranquility, you can choose to play either gender. In fact, we're offered the choice between two looks for each gender, one set the same as we saw in Tree of Tranquility, one set completely new.
The story is: A divine tree which once stood in the middle of the Harvest Goddess' pond has begun to weaken, the creatures are beginning to leave the land, and the five bells have lost their power. Only the strength of the Harvest King can revive the earth and bring the tree back to life, but he is nowhere to be found. Can you ring the five bells, bring the Harvest King back to the island, and help revive the Goddess' Tree and the land?
This game features the addition of another class of animals: Circus animals. The circus animals can be ridden, but cannot be kept as pets.
The original Harvest Moon, that appeared on the SNES back in 1996, is available on the Wii Virtual Console, so check that out if you want to relive the memories or see where it all began.
