The Things That I Hate Most

I would love to turn away and pretend that it doesn't exist, but it does, it is there staring silently from eyes that have seen too much.

It is injustice, it is poverty, crime, sickness, loneliness and abuse. It is in eyes that have seen far more than they should, eyes that are forced to bear far more than they should, eyes that silently cry out for help.

It is out there. Everyday millions of animals and people are exposed to it. It comes in the form of hunger and in hurt. In slavery and in war. In pain that is even now occurring to a little child that lives next door. Maybe to you?

It is in the cries that you hear in the dark at night as you try to sleep. It is in the eyes that stare at you from crunched up bodies that huddle on the street. It is out there and it is what I hate most about this world that we live in.

We Can Change The World!

The circumstances of distress that so many individuals worldwide live under can be changed. We just have to change ourselves first. We have to believe that this change can happen! Turning a blind eye doesn't make cruelty and abuse stop.

We need to force ourselves and our neighbors to help! Every small act that we do does make a difference. We just have to be assured of this, and to assure our neighbors of this, so that all of us working together can make a difference.

One person can make a small difference, a hundred people can make a tremendous difference, and a million people can change the world!

Awareness and education is the key. Make it happen. Change the world!

The Things That I Hate Most In This World....

I hate the look of complete and total sadness that you see in an animals eyes. You know the one. The look that they give you when they have given up all hope and almost no longer care if they live or die. I hated that look when I saw it in a desperate animals eyes. But I didn't think that it was my place to say anything so I just walked away.

I hated that look then and I hated that same look even more when I saw it shadowed in the eyes of a dear friend of mine. And I hated that I couldn't think of anything to say or do that would help. So I just squeezed his hand. Then I walked away. Now his look haunts me.

No animal or human should have to feel so lost, so alone, so forced to endure such pain in this life, so without hope. Yet it is out there. Animals and humans abused to the point that they no longer have even the will to believe that things will change. It shows in their eyes. A desperation, a pleading, an anger and a hurt beyond what they are capable of bearing. They lose almost all hope of ever having a repreive from their pain and their last desperate plea for help lies locked within their haunted eyes. That look tears me apart inside. I just want to run and hide. That was the look that I saw in that animals eyes that day so long ago and that was the look that I saw in my friends eyes not too long afterwards.

I hate that I have seen that look many times since, it always immediately brings back the memory of those past glimpses into hell. And I hate that I know that I will see that look again in the future.

I hated the look that I saw one day when my eyes met those of a young street prostitute, and I hated even more the look that she gave me, when she realized what I had seen. I hated the look in her eyes the next time I saw her, she looked even worse, and I slipped a twenty into her hands. God I hated the look when her eyes met mine that time!

I only saw her once after that, and to this day I sometimes think of her, and I wonder if she is still alive.

I hated the look that I saw one day in a little girls eyes, and I wanted to grab her and run, but I didn't. I let her walk away and I didn't see her again till she was fully grown. I didn't think at that time that I had any other choices, than the one that I made that day, and I didn't want her to be afraid. So I just smiled and waved good-bye. I pretended that everything was fine, so she wouldn't think otherwise, and she smiled and waved back at me. Then she walked away.

Now I wish that I had screamed, yelled, cried, beat my fist into the ground and fought with all the strength that I had left. But I just walked away.

I hate the look in the eyes of those who are lonely. I hate the look in the eyes of the hungry. I hate the look that says "Help Me. I am afraid!"

I hate the look in the eyes of those who are desperate for escape, and for whom, you know that there is none.

I hate the look in a bully's eyes when he is reassuring himself that he is right. Boisterous and bragging about the people that he has hurt. So rightious within his ignorance. I hate that ignorance!

I hate to look into the eyes of those who are at war. Those who's eyes have lost the ability to care and that now are cold and emotionless. You just know inside of you that war has changed them and that they are now very cruel. Who were they before this happened to them? Who could they have become? Who do they now hurt?

.........and I hate even more to look into the eyes of those that they hurt. Those trapped in war who still maintain their ability to care for their fellowman, and who are instead forced to hate, and be hated in return.

I hate that I can't make those looks go away. It's these looks that I want so badly to erase that I hate most about the world we exist in today. I want those looks to go away.

These Things That Haunt Me.......

They are the aspects of life that I have absolutely no ability what-so-ever to deal with. They tear me apart inside. They make me want to run away from the world that we live in. To bury my head in the sand so they can't haunt me anymore. To somehow find a safer much kinder place to live in if one exists.

They are the things that I hate most in the world. The things that I did not, or could not stop from happening in the past, and that I know will occur again in the future. And again, and again, and again...

These things that I hate most in this world are all glances into other people's lives. These things that I cannot erase from my mind all occurred in the brief moment when my eyes locked with anothers, and I was sent spiraling into a different world, forced to endure their hell. What I hate most in the world is the 'Look' that I have seen in another person or creatures eyes. It haunts me because for a brief moment in time, I was forced to envision everything that they see, and to see everything that they must live within. Forced to endure their pain until I turned my eyes away.

These are glimpses into a crying soul that I wish I had never seen. These are looks that I know that I alone cannot stop from happening. They are looks that I know will continue to occur if we don't work to stop them, and for me, this is almost more than my heart can bear.

We must all help. We must not walk away. We must work together.

Reach Your Hand Out With Kindness.........

Often times the lifestyle that we were raised in, as well as the thoughts and ideals that we were given as children, are what influence our actions once we become adults. Sometimes the ideals that we are given are not the correct ones. Sometimes we are the ones who must change our viewpoint on the world that we live in. We are the ones who must change our actions.

BE KIND! Feel empathy for all creatures around you whether they be great or small, they only want to live their lives with dignity and comfort, just as you do yours. Reach your hand out with kindness and make that difference to another beings life.

Respect all creatures. You do not have the right to choose which animals are good or which are bad. You do not have the right to cause suffering to another living creature. You do not have the right to choose who will live and who will die. You do not have the right to abuse any animal or person.

YOU DO NOT HAVE THAT RIGHT!

Change the world. Reach your hand out with kindness. Help make a difference!

It Is The Little Things That Matter Most!

Not everyone has ample monetary resources to donate.

Not everyone has the time or is healthy enough to spend hours volunteering for local charities.

Not everyone has a diploma in a specialized field that they can donate their expertise to others.

But we all have something that we can give. It is the little things that matter most, if we each give that little something to the world that we are able to, then the world is guaranteed to be a better place.

Give what you are able to even if it is just a kind word, or a helping hand to your fellowman, or a small bit of food for a hungry animal.

It is the little things that matter most, don't ever think that what you have to offer won't matter, because to someone it does!

If you suspect that an animal or a person is being abused - REPORT IT. Make a difference! Make the abuse stop!

One phone call can stop a lifetime of abuse from occuring. One phone call can save a life. One phone call may stop that abuser from ever abusing again.

ONE PHONE CALL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Spay Or Neuter Your Pet

Did You know in the United States alone almost 15,000,000 cats and dogs are destroyed each year because there isn't a home for them to be adopted into. This means that for every one that does manage to find a safe home nine more are euthanized.

Did you know that there are just too many pets out there in ratio to the amount of people looking to adopt?

Please help stop this from occuring. Keep pet populations in check by spaying or neutering your pet.

DON'T MAKE AN EXCUSE AS TO WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DO IT. JUST DO IT!

Money is the number one excuse that I have heard given for not spaying a pet. "It is Too Expensive". Well that is just plain old FALSE! Spaying has a one time fee and this fee is generally affordable for most people. For those that it is not - check into community programs with your local S.P.C.A or community veternarian. You made a commitment to your pet the day that you adopted him/her. Stand by your commitment!

"Allowing my pet to have one batch will make them a calmer animal". FALSE! Your animal is only going to be a parent for around ten weeks and then their babies are going to be adopted out. That short period of parenthood is not going to change your animal's behavior. Muffy is still going to chase cars and Fluffy is still going to chase the neighborhood birds. It is part of their personality.

Be responsible. Have your pet spayed or neutered.

You Can Make a difference....

REMISSION: The key ingredients for grasping a second chance in life

By Ladymermaid

Remission! I suddenly felt like superwoman, even steroids had not been able to give me the strength that being "normal" now gave me. The unbearable pain that I had suffered for the previous 6 years was gone, my mind was brilliantly clear and I could think again. I could run again, bend again, I had stamina again and I could play again. Best of all I looked like me again.

I was me again and I was terrified ........Read full article.

Too many people choose to look away from others' pain rather than getting involved and possibly sharing some of that pain. But the world would be a much better and kinder place if we all chose to look deeply into the pain of others and tried to do something about it.
