Are you afraid of the woods at night?
Do you like to walk in the woods late at night when the moon is full and everything you see in front of you appears to be in black and white? Just like the old werewolf and vampire movies or the spooky, eerie feeling of you being followed and watched by unseen entities.
I love the smell of the cool crisp night air in the forest. I love the smell of the freshly fallen autumn leaves on the ground that is now turning into compost. To me the Forest and the Woods are very mysterious at night. I love to hear the sounds of all the creatures that live in the forest. But wouldn't the forest or the woods also be a likely place where spirits and ghost would roam?

Product Description
It is believed throughout the world that when an individual dies a horrific death, his soul manifests a tormented existence hovering between heaven and hell. The Haunted Forest is such a place, where legend has it that an evil spirit, Satinka, plagues the woods. Chasing the legend of the Satinka, a group of friends venture into the forest in hopes of finding any evidence of its existence. One by one, each of them disappear, and they realize there is more truth to the legend than any of them could have imagined. An unspeakable fate awaits all who cross into the haunted forest.
In my humble opinion
The mysteries of the Woods lives within the senses of our own minds. I have spent most of the day researching haunted forest, haunted woods, haunted trees and ghost stories relating to each of them. I finally stopped my search and decided to write my own thoughts. I have came to the conclusion that it is not the forest or the woods that are haunted but instead left over energies from horrible things that have happened in the woods and the forest. As an example:
I read one story when these people wanted to play a prank on their friends. So they when into the woods close to where they lived and found a haunted area and made scratch marks and sprayed with red paint to make it look like blood. When they returned to this spot with their friends, the red spray paint and the scratches both had disappeared. I have read stories where people were hung from trees and bodies had been murdered and place by trees. I believe all of these cases of horrific tales where the ghost of the misfortunate victims linger on and haunt these woods.
The woods are also where many rituals are performed. Many times when rituals are done; going deep into the woods and connecting with the earth element increases the strength of the ritual. With that being said, as sad as it is; if a ritual is done in a way that is not for the higher good, the energy created from this ritual could also leave behind a negative energy.
Now my husband found a few interesting places:
The Black Forest region (located in Germany) is blessed with a particularly rich mythological landscape. It is said to be haunted by werewolves, sorcerers, witches and the devil in differing guises. Helpful dwarves try to balance the scales. To read more about the Black Forest in Germany click here: BlackForest
The Aokigahara Forest (located in Japan) They come here never to leave again. For centuries they have come to the Sea of Trees. What drives them here, and why do they wish to die? Located on the bottom of Mt. Fuji is a haunting forest. While from a standpoint it is quite breathtaking and almost serene, within these velvety trees is a sinister evil. Dressing up as a tree?
Tree Quotes
Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars... and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers - for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.

- I love walking in the woods. A great sense of peace and calm sweeps over me in the woods. I have a great respect for the life in the forest and moonlight walks are so beautiful, but at times can be a bit unnerving.

- I recommend hiking in the woods on a full moon night. A very sacred experience, made a little less spooky thanks to the light of the moon. Three friends and I once spent an unplanned night in the woods when we lost our trail and it got dark before we could find it. Being with others made it a fun adventure. On my own, I probably would have freaked!

- Fun and interesting read. I love walking through the forest in the daylight and quite honestly (whether it be fear based or not) have not wandered in the moonlight hours. When I think about it - I think it would be spooky.

- I love being in woodland but I do find it a little creepy on my own. I was once going to walk along a woodland path on my way somewhere at night, but hadn't been prepared for the total absence of light. It was a very safe place but I felt a little unnerved just the same. I soon turned back!

- Awesome! I love walking in the woods. I don't remember ever being frightened in the woods. I am a lot more concerned walking the streets in a big city at night. Talk about hunting grounds!
