The Old Montreal Ghost Walking Tour

After an enjoyable dinner at Modavie I was ready to head to my next scheduled activity: a ghost tour of Old Montreal. Old Montreal Ghosts or Les Fantomes de Vieux Montreal was founded about 8 years ago by a local Montrealer, Eric Poulin, who got the idea for a ghost tour on one of his travels to London. Recently he has started to collaborate with Louise Hébert, owner of Guidatour and a very experienced tourism entrepreneur who has won numerous prizes from Quebec Tourism and in 2005 was also honoured as one of Chatelaine Magazine Top Ten Women of the Year. Both entrepreneurs together combined to provide a special experience in Old Montreal.

The vicarage at Elm, Cambridgeshire, England is built on the site of an old monastery and is said to be haunted by the ghost of a monk, Ignatius, who died over 800 years ago.

Alcatraz was supposed to be a prison for America's worst prisoners. But even before the department of prisons actually took over the island, the military used it as a place to keep the civil war prisoners.
Over the years, there have been a lot of ghost stories and sighting associated with the place. Legend says that even before the military used it, the Native Americans avoided the place as they believed it to be the home of evil sprits.
Featherstone Castle, Northumberland
The Baron of Feathersonehaugh was giving his daughter in marriage to a relative of his, despite his daughter being in love with someone else. When the members of the wedding party went off for the traditional hunt, it wasn't until after midnight that the Baron heard from them again. He sat alone at the table fearing for his daughter's life, when he saw the wedding party open the door and come in, passing through furniture and objects as they did. They'd been slain in an ambush. On the anniversary, one can still see the wedding party heading toward the castle.
