Book Review Of A Paranormal Mystery

Haunting Injustice is a paranormal mystery novel written by new author Mickey Mills. His first work of fiction introduces us to a ghost hunter, Phoenix Worthy, and his crew. I found this suspense filled mystery difficult to put down once I began to read it.

Mills does a wonderful job of creating a believable string of characters to weave us through the story taking place in Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida. The ghost of a man accused and convicted of brutally murdering his wife is wreaking havoc around town trying to right the miscarriage of justice that befell him before he is killed in prison.

Review Of Haunting Injustice

by Mickey Mills

Reading this first novel by Mickey Mills was really enjoyable. Haunting Injustice is the first paranormal mystery that I have read and I was not disappointed. Mills has a real talent for building enjoyable characters and a plot that keeps you on pins and needles.

The gist of the mystery is that a man is wrongfully accused of the brutal murder of his wife. Normally, a reader would travel through the pages with the main character trying to figure out who really "done it" and pick up clues along the way. Mickey Mills takes it up a notch by having the man become a ghost that is trying to prove his innocence from the grave (so to speak).

Enter one, Phoenix Worthy, a ghost hunter with a crew of two that try figure out how to get the ghost to stop scaring the District Attorney. Well, first they have to prove that Chance is a ghost and then the fun begins!

Mills takes us on a suspenseful journey with some humor thrown in along the way. There are twists and turns that surprised even a veteran mystery reader like myself.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will most assuredly look at other authors who are writing in the paranormal genre of fiction. Mills has become one of my new favorite authors. I was thrilled to find at the end of Haunting Injustice that there is another Phoenix Worthy novel coming soon. I really look forward to a series of books with this Ghost Hunting Sleuth and his endearing crew.

I never considered myself a mystery reader (or watcher) until I got fascinated by the series Monk. I guess it would be the same as with any fiction: are there compelling characters that we care about, and is there something else there that is deeper?

    Hi Bev,

Thanks for this wonderful review. Everybody that has commented about this book talks about how much they love these characters. From Phoenix on down, readers seem to be connecting with the whole cast. I'm happy that you enjoyed the read.

Thank you Mickey for stopping by! The strong and likable characters like Phoenix, Echo, and Geoff were just a delight to follow. Mystery, suspense, ghosts, and a little humor thrown in...doesn't get much better than that!
