Hazardous Materials
Chemicals are found everywhere. They purify drinking water, increase crop production, and simplify household chores. But chemicals also can be hazardous to humans or the environment if used or released improperly.

Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration
The Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG2004) was developed jointly by the US Department of Transportation, Transport Canada, and the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation of Mexico (SCT) for use by firefighters, police, and other emergency services personnel who may be the first to arrive at the scene of a transportation incident involving a hazardous material. 

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR)
Three volume set (with a video) comprised of recommendations for on-scene (prehospital), and hospital medical management of patients exposed during a hazardous materials incident.

FEMA: Hazardous Materials
This initiative originated in the Federal Government's effort to address the problem of solid waste in general and hazardous waste in particular.
