Shawn Michaels

It was announced on the January 10th, 2011 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw that Shawn Michaels would be inducted into the Hall of Fame on April 2nd, 2011.

Shawn Michaels has been my all-time favorite professional wrestler since 1996. I watched wrestling a little as a child, but I was not a diehard fan until I was 11 years old. You can thank Shawn for that. We were snowed in for a few days and my brother had the Royal Rumble on tape, which aired earlier that month. I saw Shawn Michaels wrestle and the rest is history. I was basically hooked.

Whether I can be there in person or if I have to watch it from my living room, I will be tuning into the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony on April 2nd, 2011 to see Shawn's induction!

For those who may not know, Shawn Michaels will be facing the Undertaker again at Wrestlemania 26.

This time, it will not only be a no-DQ match (pin fall or submission only), but it also be a Career vs. Streak Match. Shawn's career for the Undertaker's streak.

I am a huge a fan of both, as I've grown up watching them both. I know how important the Undertaker's streak is. But if I may be honest, Shawn IS my favorite, & with him putting up his career, I am going to be rooting for him during this one!

Winner faces The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25.
Winner: Shawn Michaels.

The Undertaker then came out & stood on the ramp while Shawn stayed in the ring. The two stared each other down.

So at Wrestlemania 25, it will be:
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker.
[Mr. Wrestlemania vs. The Streak.]

After the match, Vladimir Kozlov came out. He & Shawn had a staredown before Shawn punched him, only to be taken out be Kozlov.

Preview: World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match.
September 15, 2008.

If World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho thought he was finished with Shawn Michaels after winning the gold at Unforgiven, Raw General Manager Mike Adamle certainly helped him realize otherwise, penning Raw's main event at No Mercy: Jericho vs. Michaels in a Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The brutality Jericho and Michaels have put one another through in recent months has been like nothing seen in a WWE ring in recent memory. For months, these two legendary ring warriors have done everything in their power to decimate each other at every given opportunity, most recently in their Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven, where HBK left Jericho incapacitated in the ring. Unforgiven had a bittersweet ending for Jericho, though. It was the first-ever Undisputed Champion who replaced an injured CM Punk in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble. Jericho took advantage of the opportunity, and in the final seconds of the bout, scored a pinfall victory that saw him crowned as the new World Heavyweight Champion. (Read More)

Since participating in two grueling matches at Unforgiven, Adamle hasn't taken it easy on the new World Heavyweight Champion, pitting him in two tough matches in back-to-back weeks; one against Batista and one defending his newly won title against CM Punk in a steel cage.

Things aren't going to get any easier come No Mercy, as Jericho's World Heavyweight gold will be defended against HBK once again in the match Michaels made famous at WrestleMania X - the Ladder Match.

Will Michaels use his experience in Ladder Matches to lead him to another win over Jericho and become the new World Heavyweight Champion? Or will Jericho be able to top HBK, retaining his title and perhaps force The Showstopper to hang up his boots once and for all, as Jericho has wanted to do for months?

At the end of Raw, Mike Adamle announced Shawn Michaels as the number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title. Shawn then stated that he wanted to face Chris in the match he helped revolutionize (I think that's the right word lol). He asked for a little help, & the producers bought out a ladder.

So at WWE No Mercy, it will be Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho in a ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Winner: Shawn Michaels when he beat Chris Jericho so bad, the ref had to stop the match because he was unable to continue.

After the match, Shawn was interviewed backstage. I couldn't hear all of it, but he said when he went home - everyone would know by the look on his face what had happened. He also said he would like to do to Jericho what he did every night for the rest of his life.

My thoughts: When Shawn went through the table on Chris & Lance, I couldn't look. I saw the re-play tho. My boy finally won! He seems to have been on a losing streak lately, when he actually wrestled. I'm so happy to see him wrestle & win! I knew he was gonna take out the ref, by the way he kept stopping & looking at him. Too bad I couldn't hear his whole promo after the match. I'll have to go back & find out. But all in all, I'm glad to see Shawn stand tall. :-)

Triceps injury won't stop HBK from going to Unforgiven.

After a comprehensive examination, it has been determined that Shawn Michaels suffered a small tear on his left triceps during a confrontation with Chris Jericho, but is medically cleared to wrestle.

"Before the MRI," Michaels told WWE.com, "my doctor was 99.9 percent sure that I had a full tear of my triceps and that I would experience bruising, swelling and a loss of my range of motion. Through the power of prayer, none of those things happened and I am ready for Unforgiven."

Michaels' Unsanctioned Match with Jericho at Sunday's pay-per-view is as personal as any contest in sports-entertainment history. After Jericho struck HBK's wife during Michaels' retirement announcement at SummerSlam due to an eye injury suffered at Jericho's hands, The Showstopper has had his mind and heart set on revenge.

"Regardless of what the MRI revealed, I made it clear that I was going forward with this match," he said.

At the conclusion of Raw this week, after signing a contract for the pay-per-view match and fending off a surprise attack by Lance Cade, WWE fans at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis saw Michaels favoring his left elbow, which he appeared to injure. Immediate medical examination revealed a damaged left triceps.

I'm really glad he's alright. It's good that he's still medically cleared to wrestle, but I was more worried about him than the match. I'm so glad it's just a minor injury, & I hope it stays that way & heals.

I wish him a quick & speedy recovery, minor injury or not!

At the conclusion of Raw tonight, after signing the contract for his Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven this Sunday, WWE fans at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis saw Shawn Michaels favoring his left elbow, which he appeared to injure. Immediate medical examination revealed a damaged left tricep.

WWE.com expects to have more information on Michaels' injury following a more comprehensive medical examination on Tuesday.

Regardless of the severity of the injury, Shawn Michaels has vowed to meet Chris Jericho in their Unsanctioned Match this Sunday at Unforgiven. What affect will this injury have on Shawn Michaels' attempt at retribution against Chris Jericho this Sunday?

I hope it's nothing too serious. I wish Shawn nothing but the best; & a healthy & speedy recovery!

Shawn Michaels was shown backstage sitting there as his lawyer looked over the contract for the contract signing.

Video promos regarding Shawn & Chris' feud were played through-out the night.

The Contract Signing.
Both men were told if they had any physical contract with each other during the signing, the match would be called off. They signed the contracts & dismissed security. Chris Jericho told Shawn that he took his advice, and told his kids he would never be like Shawn; lying & manipulative. He also told Shawn he forbid his wife & children from watching Unforgiven, because he did not want them to see what he was capable of doing. He also stated that he was not sorry for anything he put Shawn & his family through, but that he was quite proud of it. Shawn stated that he took comfort in knowing Chris' family wouldn't be watching, and that his wouldn't be either. He said Unforgiven was a fitting name, because he would never forgive Chris for all he has done to him & his family. He then told Chris that all of the pain & suffering he has put him through would rain down on him at Unforgiven.

The two continued to go back & forth, until Lance Cade tried to attack Shawn, & Jericho got out of the ring. Shawn took Cade out, kicking in in the head & staring down Jericho as Raw went off the air.

This signing will be the first time these Superstars have been in the ring with each other since Y2J left HBK's wife in a world of pain. Preview: Unsanctioned Match.

Despite Shawn Michaels' doctor's suggestion to hang up his boots due to injury, HBK extended a challenge to Chris Jericho for an Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven, where neither Jericho nor WWE would be liable if Michaels were to sustain further injury.

Can you blame HBK for doing everything he could to ensure that he would face Jericho at the aptly named Unforgiven?

What would you do if, just moments after you announced your retirement from the business you loved, that you gave your livelihood to and that you bled for, you were on your knees holding the fallen body of your wife, who was punched, without provocation, by the man who is solely responsible for your announcement?

For months now, Chris Jericho has plagued the life and career of HBK with his new sense of self-righteousness and his unrelenting verbal and physical attacks on The Showstopper. Ever since he revealed his true intentions after interjecting himself into Michaels' business in April, Jericho has berated HBK and all the WWE Universe for supporting an "immoral" man. In the end, Jericho had even gone so far as to force Michaels' hand in having to contemplate retirement after repeatedly attacking and re-injuring The Showstopper's eye and possibly detaching his retina.

At SummerSlam, however, the first-ever Undisputed Champion may have been counterproductive in his actions when he struck Michaels' wife, Rebecca, in the center of the WWE ring. Whether he meant to hit her or not, Jericho showed no remorse the next night on Raw, once again taking the moment to preach against HBK and all of the WWE Universe.

One week later on Raw, as Jericho accepted HBK's challenge, Michaels promised that he won't forgive Jericho for what he has done to his family and he won't be looking to "steal the show." He will be looking for one thing and one thing only - "an eye for an eye."

With it now seeming as though Jericho has awoken a sleeping beast within Shawn Michaels, will the Superstar formerly referred to as Y2J be able to subdue the wrath of HBK? Or will it truly be "an eye for an eye" with Michaels exacting his revenge on the diabolical Jericho?

While I am a Chris Jericho fan, I'm rooting for HBK! Best of luck to Shawn, & I hope to see some Sweet Chin Music delivered. :-)

Shawn Michaels made an appearance on Raw tonight & discussed what happened to his wife, Rebecca, at SummerSlam. He said in response to everyone asking how she was, she's hurt. He said he thought maybe Chris didn't mean to hit her, but then he started to blame her for what happened. He also stated that even though he retired and thanked the fans for everything, he wasn't going anywhere.

He told Chris Jericho that if he did to him what he wanted to do, he'd be thrown in jail. He challanged him to an unsanctioned match at WWE Unforgiven on September 7th, 2008.

Chris, who was on the Titon Tron, claimed he wasn't at the arena because the WWE was afraid of what he would do to Shawn. He accepted Shawn's match at WWE Unforgiven.

So the official match for WWE Unforgiven will be:

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho.
Unsanctioned Match.

My thoughts: You don't know how happy it made me to hear the words "I'm not going anywhere!" come from Shawn's mouth. Best of luck to him at WWE Unforgiven. I know it'll be a great match, & I hope to see many more great matches from him in the years to come! As I said before, when he's really ready to retire, I'll support & respect his decision. But what with him not only being my favorite wrestler, but also my favorite celebrity, for over 12 years, I'll never fully be ready to see him walk away. But he's here for now. :-)

Rebecca Michaels update.

Following the volatile blow suffered at the hands of Chris Jericho at SummerSlam, rumors are abound that Shawn Michaels' wife Rebecca may have fractured her jaw.

As the world witnessed on Sunday night on pay-per-view, Jericho's errant punch connected with Rebecca's jaw, causing immediate swelling about her face. The severity of her injury, however, remains unconfirmed as the Michaels family has maintained their privacy with regards to this situation.

Rebecca is such a trooper! Getting involved & taking a bump. Kudos to her, & I hope to see more of her on TV with Shawn. As I've said before, it'll be interesting to see where this storylines goes now, now that is has become more personal.

A lot happened. I'd post it here, but that would make this post too long. Unless you guys want me to post the article / results, then I'll be glad to.

Now onto my thoughts....

At first, I was a little upset. See, with bringing HBK's wife out, I wasn't sure if Shawn really was planning to walk away. I haven't heard any retirement rumors, so that would've been shocking. And you know, you can never tell with Shawn lol. But once Chris Jericho came out, I was almost sure it was a storyline. What with Shawn's wife being involved & this now becoming personal, it's going to be interesting to see where this feud goes. Personally I'm looking forward to it.

BTW, I will say this now - I like Rebecca. So I don't want anyone to think that I'm the kind of fan that hates HBK's wife. I'm most definitely not a fan like that, & I most definitely do NOT hate her.

Anyways, as much as I love seeing Shawn & Chris work together, I do hope the feud will end soon & we will be able to see both men move on to something new; something fresh. I guess only time will tell.

I also hope we'll see many more matches out of HBK. When he is ready to hang up his boots & walk away for good, I will support him & respect his decision. But I will never fully be ready to see Shawn leave for good. In my opinion, it wouldn't be the same without him.

I hope to see Shawn on Raw tonight. That would be awesome. To anyone watching, I hope you enjoy it! :-)

I decided to create a lens on someone I really adore - The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels is a World Wrestling Entertainment SuperStar [Professional Wrestler]. He's been there for a long time - back when the "E" was an "F". ;-)

I've been a fan of HBK for over 12 years. He's the reason I even became hooked on pro-wrestling. No matter what he does -match or promo- he always gives 110%. Most of my favorite matches include Shawn, & he never fails to make me smile. :)

I'll get more into WHY I'm an HBK fan later. And I'll warn you now - I have a lot to tell on that one. But no matter what, I'll always be an HBK fan. :)
