There are a ton of video cameras on the market. You can easily be seduced into spending thousands of dollars. Here are some features of the HDR CX110 that made it a good fit for our family.

We needed a camera for our family's all around use as well as our teenage son's YouTube videos that he makes with his friends. (We split the cost with him to hold him accountable.) Because he's a teenager, we didn't want to spend too much on it- that would be like throwing money away. We figure for what we paid, if we have it for 5 years, we will be more than happy.

Videos can be made in 1920 x 1080 HD. They look real nice when we watch the videos on our large screen TV or downstairs in our makeshift home theater.

Camera takes 3.0 megapixel images- not super high resolution, but good enough for great family videos.

Takes good video in low light conditions.

Has zoom in lens feature.

This Handycam is super compact ( under 8 inches long) and light weight too.

So far, we've used it at highschool football games, a cousin's wedding, to make great videos of our dog, and we've taken it on some family hikes too. And our son has launched his YouTube career, lol.

Perfect for preserving family get togethers, videos of the kids growing up, vacations and school events too!
