What are some options available for migraine cure

Migraines are a form of headaches that are often throbbing on one side of the head. The area is usually close to the area of the temple. There may be other migraine symptoms that accompany it such as nausea, vomiting and being very sensitive to bright light and noise.

Are there any migraine headache treatment remedies? The most common way to stop the acute pain is by taking painkillers. These would be the general, all purpose ones that are available over the counter at pharmacies or even at any convenience store.

However there are some sufferers for whom regular painkillers just won't work. They need a doctor's prescription for migraine medication. And even then, many do not consult the doctor, preferring to suffer their pain in silence. It could be because of the belief that if a person were to take migraine medication or even painkillers every time a headache strikes, very soon, the person's system will become immune to such medication. Or perhaps of the belief that this would lead to a dependency on painkillers.

Migraine Cure

Millions of people suffer from migraine and are in search for a migraine headache treatment cure even though its cause is still unknown.

What are some headache remedies available

Headaches were long thought to be caused by blood vessels dilating in the brain but now that line of thought has shifted to other possible causes of headaches. Hence the search for headache remedies is still ongoing. Studies show that headaches can be triggered by hormones which affect not only the onset but also the severeness of the headaches. Women are found to be more prone to migraines and this thought to be linked to estrogen affecting blood vessels.

For others, it could be strong sunlight that triggers headaches or eating certain foods. Sometimes, exposure to loud noises, extreme cold, heat and flashing lights also set off migraines. Many people get headaches from stress.

Although there are several migraine medications available, no one treatment is effective for everyone. Therefore if you have a migraine and over the counter painkillers do not work, it's best to consult your doctor about it.
