A Quick Overview Of Healing With Vitamin C

Everyone should be taking extra vitamin C! Vitamin C has so many countless benefits and healing properties, it is wonderful immune system builder, has been found to have antiviral and antibacterial effects and is a great age defender. Vitamin C has changed my life! I am a much healthier person today because of it and my kids are also reaping the benefits of the knowledge I have gained about vitamin c and its healing power. Growing up I was put on antibiotics quite frequently due to chronic strep throat infections which also led into early adulthood. As I grew older I began my mission to cure myself without the use of antibiotics or other drugs. Over the years I have learned a lot about Vitamin C saturation and the ability to self heal. So here you are, read on and learn a lot about Vitamin C, Vitamin C saturation and natural healing tips.

About me

rm badgeI am not a doctor nor do I think you should not seek a health care professional if you feel it is the thing for you to do. I am a researcher by nature and have educated myself from reading, following well educated alternative doctors and healers, talking with professionals and obviously my own personal experiences. So not only have I intellectually absorbed the info on this page but I can actually say it has worked for me over and over again and I am healthier than ever!

What Is Vitamin C?

  • Antioxidant
  • Natural Antihistamine
  • Antibacterial
  • Antiviral
  • Increases the absorption of iron
  • Plays a vital roll in wound healing
  • Is needed to create collagen
  • Improves nitric oxide activity, Nitric oxide is needed for the dilation of blood vessels, potentially important in lowering blood pressure and preventing spasms of arteries in the heart that might lead to heart attacks, according to recent researchers

My Story

How Vitamin C has changed my life

When I was a little girl I got chronic strep throat constantly, it always led me to the doctor if not the emergency room. You know what I am talking about that horribly sore throat that is accompanied by swollen tonsils with those nasty white sacks that form on them. I remember being so little in so much pain and feeling seriously helpless. Not being able to eat anything and even swallowing water was painful. Of course back then there was no internet and finding alternatives was so much more limited so my mom did what she knew was best and down the hatch with antibiotics. If I am recalling correctly I was guaranteed to get this at least 1-3 times every single winter and sometimes in the summer. So it would be fair to say I took antibiotics at least once-three times per year. I know for some this may not seem like a big deal but just examine this: My immune system was obviously unable to protect or heal itself seeing that I was sick with this illness so often. Could the cause of the frequency be due to the antibiotic usage? The answer is a definite yes! The more antibiotics you take the stronger the virus becomes over time. As you may notice there has been talk about this and how antibiotics are not working as good as they once have. Every time you take an antibiotic your in essence saying my body is unable to heal itself, making you weaker in just this mere though alone. Back to me story and to make the ending short....I searched out ways to build my immune system and I went on a mission determined to beat this dang problem on my own without the use of antibiotics. I did this partly cause I was now on my own financially and had no insurance plus deep down I KNEW there was a better way. So with all my research and self experimentation I learned all about Vitamin C saturation and how this method of therapy heals you and builds a strong immune system that reprograms itself into doing the job it was meant to do. Now that's a happy immune system! In closing I am now 29 years old and haven't had full blown strep throat in 6 years and haven't taken an antibiotic for 10 years! I am healthier than ever before, I rarely get sick, all I use is natural treatments when I do feel a bug coming on and I will tell you that it never becomes more than that. What would it be like for you to not get sick anymore?SquidWords.com

Get Rid Of The Sickies

With Vitamin C Saturation

Vitamin C saturation is basically when you take Vitamin C every half hour to every hour until your body says hey that's all I can use at which point you get loose bowels. After this occurs, you back off to taking it every couple hours until your feeling better. Now for some people depending on their immune system and Vitamin C tolerance it can be anywhere from a couple hours to several days before saturation occurs. It is very important to stick with it consistently in order build the immune system, reach the cells and battle off whatever it is going on. You would only be doing this if you are sick otherwise you should be supplementing with Vitamin C regularly with lower dose and frequency to maintain a strong immune system. While it is okay to start saturation in full blown sick as heck mode the best time to begin saturation is at the very beginning of a feeling sick. As you learn to let your body be the guide and listen to it you will notice subtle and ever so slight indications that you have something about to surface. Try it out, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

The most important thing to know is...

Vitamin C is water-soluble what the body doesn't use it excretes making it safe and a great alternative to antibiotics.

Bluebonnet Vitamin C

The best Vitamin C money can buy!

This form of C is great because in just one teaspoon you get approx 4,000mg of C which means you get more for your money compared to other types. This is a crystal form that you mix into juice, tea or your favorite drink which has virtually no taste, mixing with water is also an option. The other advantage to this kind is that it is great for controlling your doses unlike a pill form. With that being said this why it is great for children as well as it is buffered so it is very gentle on the tummy!

I am a big believer in Vitamin C supplementation, but also believe in getting as much of our vitamins we can from food. The fruit with the most Vitamin C is the Guava! It has almost 3x as much Vitamin C as the an Orange!

I cannot sing enough praises of Vitamin C. Whenever I feel I may be getting sick, I always take 1000mg and it makes me feel better. Vitamin C is also good for speeding up the healing process, especially for those with defective hip replacements that may be affected by a potential DePuy Pinnacle Recall who want to improve their overall health. Thanks for the information!

I use Vitamin C on a daily basis with a bit more if I feel illness coming on.But i have heard that if you have taken a lot of Vitamin C consistently and then cut the amount suddenly, you can develop scurvy because your body has gotten used to increased amounts. That's why I would wonder what would happen if you stop after reaching the saturation point and cut back. Although I do up my Vitamin C intake when I'm getting ill, I also increase my Mannatech Ambrotose tablets, because that really helps me. Vitamin D is also very important to the immune system, and most people get too little of it. We take about 1000 mg of that a day, too.

Hi BarbRad! Research shows that such an effect such as scurvy, does not occur in the vast majority of situations. For more reading on this visit:http://www.doctoryourself.com/vitaminc2.html, you will also find a link to Dr. Klenner's Clinical Guide to the Use of Vitamin C! You are so right about Vitamin D as well!

This is great! If I even have an itch of a cold coming on, I do load up with vitamin C and it seems to lessen the illness and prevent it from coming on full blown.

I agree with NaturalMommies that you have to get the Vit.C from good quality supplements because there is very little VitC in food unless it is eaten as soon as it is picked. Even then, it has to have ripened on the plant/tree. Colgan tested oranges on the tree then at daily intervals in the local store for a week. He found that 50% was lost by the same afternoon, and by the end of the week very little was left. As most of our "fresh" food is picked unripe and/or is stored for up to 6 months, it contains very few vitamins at all.

Thank you for this information. I had always heard to take vitamin c when you start to get sick but I had never heard of the saturation method.

Our family are strong believers in Vitamin C. Many, many times when we have felt a cold coming on we take large doses of C to stop it in it's tracks. Also, avoid products with caffeine while taking vitamin C, the caffeine works against the Vitamin C. Vitamin C only stays in your system for about 4 hours, so take it often if you are sick. Wonderful lens, Five super stars from me.

I would also like to add the importance of a buffered Vitamin C for use in saturation or even daily use if you have a sensitive stomach. Regular VitC can give some an upset stomach due to the acid, this is why a buffered form is preferred.

Every1 has different requirements based on there health, age, etc various experts argue that your daily dose should be anywhere form zero to 10,000 mg a day.According to the first National Health and Nutrition Examination Study, getting just 300 mg of C every day lowers risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 25% in women and by 42% in men.The study also found that getting more than 360 mg of C a day lowers risk of having a survivable heart attack by 27 to 28%.The study found that C in food wasn't what made the difference. The lowered risk of heart attack and stroke was found in people who took supplements.Let your body be your guide, if your taking a C supplement and your getting loose bowels then back off a bit, remember it is water soluble and wont hurt you. Being Pregnant I personally take anywhere from 4,000-8,000 mg per day on average otherwise I about 1,000mg-2,000mg unless I am not feeling up to par in which case I up the dose to a saturation point.

I was feeling somewhat run down at work the other night and I I took 2 Grams of Vitamin C in the form of energy-C--Cranberry flavor.

Within 20 minutes I felt so much better. Reminded me to take Vitamin C more frequently.
