Dandelions are more than annoying weeds!

Apart from being an ornamental flowering plant (or to some, just a weed), dandelion is widely used as an amazing medicinal herb. Dandelion bears beautiful flowers. Chinese use it to treat inflammation, diarrhea, weight loss, diabetes and digestive disorders.

Dandelion is grown in Asia, North America and Europe. All parts of the dandelion including flowers, leaves and roots are used for medicinal purposes, however, the dark brown fleshy root of dandelion is rich in vitamin A, C, iron, calcium and many assorted detoxifiers.

Dandelions are lovely plants. It's too bad they are regarded as weeds. So easy to grow - can you imagine a thick floor of dandelions in a raised bed in the garden?
