Not Just a Tasty Drink

Tea has been a popular beverage since ancient times in China and Japan.  It's not just a tasty drink, there are lots of health benefits associated with drinking tea too.

Tea offers so many health benefits, you may be surprised at just how many.  If you don't have any tea in your kitchen cupboard you'll certainly want to buy some after reading all this interesting info!

Drinking Tea and Weight Loss

Increase Your Metabolic Rate with Tea

Tea is known for its wondrous ability to help reduce stress and decrease a person's chance for heart disease, but can it help us lose weight? Actually, studies show that it can help us shed some of those unwanted pounds.

If you're looking for a healthy and natural way to boost your energy, tea may be it. Because you have more energy you'll also be able to exercise more which in turn help you burn off the calories.

Tea has also been shown to increase the metabolic rate at which the body naturally burns off the fat calories to shed extra pounds. Studies show that tea can burn off about 80 calories a day in addition to a good exercise regimen.

Green tea is thought to contain flavonoids, which enhance the body's use of a hormone called norepinephrine. It's believed that this hormone increases your metabolic rate so that you can burn off more calories.

By drinking 3-5 cups per day you're also enhancing the fat oxidation speed. Not bad eh?

This was compared to a group that received a placebo product, which didn't report any difference in increased energy. Adding tea to your diet program is an excellent choice for those who want to lose weight but fear the harmful effects that diet pills and powders are known for.

Tea provides them with increased energy without needing a steroidal product.
You're providing your body with much more than just increased energy by drinking tea. Tea also provides you with a strengthened immune system, it helps alleviate some arthritis symptoms and can even decrease your chances of developing cancer.

Your body also gets the water it needs - all by just drinking a few cups of tea a day. It isn't recommended that you drink too much tea with caffeine, though. A little doesn't normally hurt, but if caffeine isn't on your diet plan or you just don't want to put your body at risk with caffeine, and then just use decaffeinated tea.

Tea is an all-natural way to shed those few extra pounds without causing any harm to your body with diet pills, which don't always work anyway. Some of those pills have been linked to addictions and heart problems, but tea has been proven to be safe for use in any diet program.

Give it a try the next time you want to lose a few pounds. Challenge yourself to do it safely and naturally and see just how much weight you can shed by adding a few cups of tea to your diet instead of sodas. Any type of weight loss should be healthy weight loss.

Bad Breath

Tea Treats the Causes of Bad Breath

If you suffer from bad breath you may have tried
over the counter products only to find they don't work and only make your mouth feel dry. Bad breath is very embarrassing and difficult to get rid of.

One underused way to get rid of bad breath is to drink tea. Tea is an all-natural way to rid yourself of the bad breath blues and it enables you to face the world again without worrying that your breath will drive others away.

Not only can you banish that "cotton mouth" feeling but you'll also save money. The reason bad breath occurs is because the bacteria grows rapidly on your tongue and gum pockets.

The bacteria hiding in your mouth can give off a sulfurous-like odour which produces bad breath or halitosis. Most over the counter products try to cover the smell, which is why they fail to work.

The only way to get rid of the bad breath is to get rid of the bacteria. Both black and green tea is known to help control plaque within the mouth, which would normally cause the bacteria to grow.

When the plaque has been removed, it's easier to keep bacteria under control. Studies show that the polyphenols found in some teas helps keep the foul odor bacteria from forming.

If you become a regular tea drinker, not only are you helping with bad breath but it's also linked to reducing colds and throat infections.

Who can think of a better way than to drink tea? It's a totally natural product with no side-effects. Not only that, but it assists with so many other things that help our body stay healthy longer.

Please don't assume that tea can replace your normal dental care. You still need to brush your teeth and floss daily. However tea will certainly help keep your mouth healthy.

Tea and Cancer

10 x More Antioxidants than Fruit and Veg

The polyphenols are found in the camellia sinensis plants, which are crushed and then fermented into common teas, such as green tea, black tea and the oolong tea. These polyphenols have been extensively studied to determine the extent of their benefits.

Studies revealed that tea has 10 times the quantity of antioxidants compared to fruit and vegetables. The antioxidants are a powerful ally in the fight against ailments like cancer.

They are different from the antioxidants found in fruit and vegetables as they are a type of flavonoid called catechin. They can seek out and destroy chemicals that damage a body's cells, and cause cancers to form.

Tea may even help the body fight against the harmful effects of cigarette smoke. They protect cells from these nasty enemies and prevent them from damaging our body's cells.

Not only that, tea can also help with blood clot formations, high cholesterol only with delaying the onset of diabetes. Polyphenols are also known for their aid in weight loss programs and in the defence against halitosis and dental problems.

Skin conditions can also be improved and may help prevent Parkinson symptoms. That's not all, tea may reduce the chance of getting skin cancer. Using tea extract on your skin may also block the damage from the sun.

If you already have tumours, tea may be able to slow their growth. It can also protect bones and boost the immune system to reduce the risk of colds and infections.

So how much tea should you drink? Well, studies on polyphenols have found that 8-10 cups of tea are needed per day.
