Home Spa Recipes

Image and video hosting by TinyPicWhen you go to a spa, they feed you delicious healthy food. Spas also offer naturally healthy spa treatments. Here are some great recipes you can use in your own home to copy that healthy spa atmosphere.

Strawberry Smoothie
1 Cup of frozen, or 6-8 fresh strawberries
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
If fresh strawberries are used, include 4-6 ice cubes.
Put all ingredients in the blender, and blend until smooth. Serves 2
(This recipe can be adapted by using blueberries, or raspberries in place of the strawberries, or any combination)

Jujoba Herbal Hair Conditioner
12 drops vitamin E oil
1 cup floral water (rose)
1 tablespoon jojoba oil
Warm the floral water in the top of a double boiler, remove from heat and add the jojoba oil. Add vitamin E, and pour mixture into a blender. Blend on high for about 2 minutes. This will create 1 treatment for long hair, and approximately two treatments for shorter hair.

After wetting your hair, pour the treatment over your hair, and leave in for 1-5 minutes, depending on how dry your hair is. Rinse.

What is the Best Way to Pamper Yourself In Your Home Spa?

How should you pamper yourself in your home spa? Think of your five senses, sight, touch, hearing, taste, and smell. Look for anything that gives one or more of your senses pleasure and relaxation. What one person may consider pampering, may be torture to someone else. What relaxes you may not relax others. Here are some things you might do to pamper yourself at home:
read a great book
a long soak in a hot bathtub
a manicure or pedicure
a facial or face mask
candles and soft music
meditation or yoga
take a long walk
a massage, or foot rub
a tall latte, cup of coffee, or herbal tea
These are just a few ideas. How many can you think of to relax in your home spa? Add your ideas to the guest book below.

Create an Outdoor Space for Relaxation and Meditation

Don't limit your home spa to the indoors. Create a relaxing space in your garden, on your deck, or under a nice shade tree. Place a comfortable bench, chair or swing in the space to help you relax. Getting in touch with nature is a great way to get in touch with your inner peace. It is also a great way to calm your mind after a stressful hectic day.

Adding a water feature to your outdoor home spa can make it even more relaxing. Add a small fountain or pond to your garden. Check out The Virtual Garden for more information on setting up a relaxing outdoor spa space.

What Are The Benefits of Creating A Spa At Home?

Setting aside time every day to relax, pamper yourself, or meditate can be very good for your health. You need to take some time out of your busy schedule and enjoy life. People have a difficult time doing this, but it really is important. Relaxing can help lower your blood pressure, and improve your overall mood.

Everyone feels better after they have taken a few moments to spend on themselves. It will help your self-esteem if you remind yourself, you are important too.

Don't get too caught up in helping everyone around you, and forget to help the most important person of all, yourself.

You'll be done before you know it, and feel better for the rest of the day.

These are some of my favorites. You may like something completely different. The most important part is to get up and move.

The recipes sound soothing. I'm going to try make the lavendar bath salts as I've got lavendar and thyme growing in my garden.

I do this sort of stuff for my family.
Life can be so stressful !
We need a little "Me-Time" to shut out the world.

I take some of my organically grown (from my own gardens) herbs and flowers and put some in vase to scent my bathroom and then I grab one of my handmade soaps and some bath salts... (all made with my all-natural herbs/flowers...) and go in to enjoy a soak in the tub.

Then, I'll use my healing salve on rough patches of skin and my exfoliating lip balm or one of my regular ones to pamper my lips.

I love to get pampered, and I consider it a blessing to be able to do it without using any chemical junk from the stores.
It has got to be all natural for me and my family.

Thank you for the reminder that I am due for a little special relaxing and well deserved "Me-Time" very soon - LOL

    Organically Yours,
    Diana

Nice lens. I know that there are times when we all get stressed, either physically or mentally. I have found that using a microwaveable heating pad like cozybagz can help relieve the discomfort of everyday stress and strain. cozybagz are reusable corn filled bags that can be used hot or cold. They are a wonderful, natural way to bring a little extra comfort into your life.

Oh, this is exactly what I needed! Thank you, Linette.
I pamper myself by putting a massage pad on my favorite chair, soaking my feet in a footbath, lighting incense, and listening to soothing music. By candle light, its even better.
