From the Codex Alimentarius to the FDA's conflict of interest with the big Pharma corps, it hasn't been looking too good for keeping the right to choose in the area of our health.

There is a risk, make on mistake on that. Big pharma keeps on pushing the lawmakers to ban our access to not only information on supplements, herbs, and other alternative healing modalities, but also to these items as well.

Alreay, in the EU, many countries are starting to limit or ban them. Vitamins, minerals, herbs etc. (and only artificial low dose ones) are to be only obtained through a doctor's prescription. Drugs (many toxic and expensive) are to be considered the first line of healing. Big profits are considered before someone's health. The is the job of the Codex Alimentarius. The FDA wants to harmonize with Codex and do the same thing. It has already issued a guidance towards this.

Are our bodies to be owned by the state? If you care about your freedom to choose what you take, foodwise, and what kind of therapy you seek, especially if it preventative, then please educate yourself with the information provided in this lens.

We cannot allow the FDA, AMA (which is bought by Big Pharma), and the pharmaceutical corps to make our health choices for us. As you can see from the above article, this can end up costing us our freedom, our health, and a great deal of our money.

"The modern history of Codex began under the prompting of certain mostly German businessmen (some more or less straight from Allied internment camps) who became active in international post-war pharmaceutical consolidation and regulation. In the early '60s the WHO and FAO jointly established Codex Alimentarius as a UN agency. The Codex Alimentarius Commission and its various committees and working groups oversee a series of Standards defining various items in the food trade and Guidelines relating to the processes of the trade.

The Codex Statute puts food safety on an equal par with promoting world food trade. Codex, unfortunately has become the playground of various large commercial interests and the governments with which they cooperate, thereby allowing the degradation of organic standards, increased allowed levels of toxicity, un-labeled irradiation and use of genetically modified ingredients. But even worse, the Codex VMG - Vitamin and Mineral Guideline - treats natural dietary ingredients more akin to drugs or industrial chemicals than the foods substances that they are, subjecting nutrients and natural remedies to an impossible standard for making simple nourishing health benefit claims."

What is so outrageous is that the FDA plans on harmonizing with Codex. We could even be forced to comply with its regulations or suffer trade sanctions. Yes, it could go that far.

It seems that compulsory mandatory vaccination and medication is gathering steam in some places. Yes, in some locations in this country, your body and your children's body belongs to the state (and the corporations).

In Prince George's County, Maryland, 2300 children were forcibly vaccinated. The parents were given the choice of that or prison. They were not even told that they could file for an exemption to this by the prosecutor in the court.

Vaccines have been proven to not be what they are touted to be. Instead of aiding the immune system, they actually suppress it. There are proven health risks when they are used, especially in young children. The mercury alone is bad enough, which, in more and more cases comes with the wonderful side effect of autism. Vaccines are a cocktail of toxic substances that you wouldn't want to put in your body. The Pharma corps know this since they had themselves indemnified in one of the bills that was made law in recent years.

Even the state attorney Glen Ivey doesn't buy the "vaccines are good for you" lie. He has refused to vaccinate his children. No one is going after Mr. Ivey. Position hath its priviledges.

It happened in Maryland, now New Jersey. Merck has received the best of all Christmas gifts, access to more childrens bodies.

The flu vaccine is now required for preschoolers and the pertussis and meningitis vaccines for 6th graders. Yes, the most vulnerable of us to nerve damage from mercury in the vaccines will be getting theirs. The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Fred Jacobs, noted that he was concerned about protecting "working moms" from the problems they would face if their kids got sick. How very thoughful of him. But, I bet it will be worse if a child is permanently damaged (autism or any of the other vaccine injuries: asthma, auto-immune disease, ADD/ADHD, or all the other cataclysmic - and now emerging - reactions to from these vaccines) and not recourse if that happens. Pharmaceutical companies cannot be sued! Big katchingies especially in the midst of the Vioxx scandal and payouts.

There might even be an emerging conflict of interest developing on this as well since Merck's HQ is in Whitehouse Station, NJ. The coincidence is that Jacobs is leaving his post at the end of December, ostensibly for "personal" reasons. I'm just waiting to see if he ends up on the board of Merck or something similar. We shall surely see.

So which state will step up for poor Pharmaceutical companies at our expense next? Anyone care to take a wild guess?

I have just received an alert that I just couldn't ignore. The FDA is bowing yet again to big industry and wants to irradiate all supplements when it is not needed. I guess if you can't at first ban them, then make them unusable, which irradiation will do. They want to use 3 to 30 times higher that is currently allowed for all but two food categories. Talk about overkill.

Pediatricians, ABC and Censorship: Facts Are Scarier Than Fiction

On Monday, the American Academy of Pediatrics will release the contents of a foreboding letter sent last week to ABC/Disney executives, demanding they cancel the January 31 premiere of a new legal drama series, Eli Stone, because it features a family attorney who successfully argues in court that mercury-containing flu vaccine caused autism in one child.

The letter, signed by AAP President Renee Jenkins, borders on near-hysteria over a fictional television entertainment. It ominously warns that ABC "will bear responsibility for the needless suffering and potential deaths of children from parents' decisions not to immunize based on the content of the episode."

Dr. Jenkins calls on ABC to cancel the episode but, anticipating a refusal, urges executives to run a disclaimer that "no scientific link exists between vaccines and autism," if the offending network "persists" in airing the show.

There are many issues and many fronts in the war for health freedom. We are being hit right and left from those in authority that wish to regulate these freedoms out of existence so that corporate (Big Pharma, Big Agri Business, Biotechs, and Chemical Industries) power is unchallenged.

Here are some of the main issues that are being currently dealt with.

Codex Alimentarius

Codex Alimentarius was created in 1962 as a trade Commission by the UN to control the international trade of food. It was formed by and is guided and run by corporate interests, most notably the pharmaceutical, pesticide, biotechnology and chemical industries. There is more politics (power for the leaders) and economics (money for the corporations) than science in the guidelines being developed by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. FDA and Harmonization

The FDA has already stated its intent to cooperate with Codex. In fact, US reps (read Pharma etc) are pushing Codex along to the lowest common denominator. Nutritional claims for food (ex. cherries) are not allowed or they will be pulled from the market. (Then why do we eat food then?)
The FDA is working fist (a very greedy one too) in glove with big Pharma. Ex. The FDA is now sending letters to pharmacies to cease and desist from compounding bioidentical hormones for menopausal women. There is no real reason given for this, except that women should stick with the approved drug methods instead (actually Wyeth told them so since it is the biggest producer of hormone replacement drugs). It just tells them to just do it or else.

And this is coming from an organization that has approved drugs that are mostly recalled (51%) because they are fast tracked to approval and market.
All of this is not too surprising since the head of the FDA is none other than Andrew von Eschenbach, that advocate of Big Pharma and Big Techna. With the recess appointment of this individual, the FDA has become nothing more than a branch of these industries with a great deal of teeth.

Bad Medicine

Doctors are usually groomed and payed for (tuition, gifts, perks) by Big Pharma. They get a lot of their information from them (junk science)and usually over prescribe drugs and medications. Usually the doctor takes mere seconds or minutes (is that really enough?) for a diagnosis and the treatment usually involves drugs. Many of these drugs have harmful side effects and harmful interactions. With the exception of the few, they have become an extension of the industry. Only a few doctors have resisted these perks and owe nothing to these bad boys (and girls). See the link to www.nofreelunch.org for information on these kinds of doctors.

I am not saying that doctors have ill (no pun intended) intent, but that there is an enforced ignorance in place. Also, there is so much information to keep up with and so little spare time for them to keep current, that the protocols (drug, radiation, etc) that have been set up are the easiest route for them. And the FDA and AMA enforces the protocols. Deviations are punished often. Also, unfortunately, death by doctor (iatrogenic causes) has become a leading cause of death.

To add to the prior part, a new report is being peddled by the mainstream media that mercury (which is an ingredient in themiserol in vaccines) is actually good for you. I am so relieved! All of those mad hatters of past days would be too. I will start supplementing ASAP! Brain and neurological damage be damned!

Mandatory Vaccination and Drugging

It seems that Big Fat Pharma corporations want to mandate themselves as a regular part of our lives. Not only is it intrusive but it is presumptious and potentially harmful. Pharmas often create a need (some sort of imaginary illness) and then miraculously have just the right drug to "cure" it. Presently, there is a trend to attempt to medicalize normal aspects of life. The latest is a bill that has been introduced called "The Mother's Act" (S1375 IS). This is for medicalizing (monetizing) post partum depression using psychopharma drugs that actually increase the rate of suicide in those who take them. There has been an increase in children being diagnosed with some sort of emotional or mental problem, some of which were once considered just normal behaviour. There are mandatory mental health screenings to stick a diganosis on this behaviour. Of course, they have drugs to suppress these "symptoms". If parents refuse such screenings and druggings, they are charged with child abuse and the child can be taken away from them.

Flouridation of our water sources has gotten more pervasive. This is just forced drugging of the population with toxic chemical waste. It is allegedly for the protection of our tooth enamel, but is nothing of the kind. Studies have shown that this OD of flouride can cause dental flourosis (weakening of the enamel) of the tooth enamel in children. Also, it is a known neurotoxin and results mainly in the pacification of those who partake of it.

The Pharma reps lobby Congress and State governments. They advise on (or outwright write the laws) to shove down our throats. They own the FDA. The head of this organization is none other than a Pharma rat. (See FDA section). This way, what is good for business will be deemed good for us, no matter how many are harmed in the process (human wastage and all).

Vaccinations, being such a huge money maker, are starting to be forced on the more helpless populations, which are the old, the young, and the poor. For example, the recent mandatory use of HPV vaccine for girls of 11 years of age. There really is no good sensible reason for this except profit.
Want your children to go to school, vaccinate them. Want to go to college, get vaccinated. Want to work in certain professions? Vaccines are a must. There are health, religious, and even some philosophical exemptions allowed. But, some states want to remedy that and allow absolutely no exemptions. So much for freedom.

There are currently laws on the books that if there is a pandemic or potential pandemic, it's vaccines all around and prison for those who refuse. Not with my arm you don't! And don't even think of bringing these Pharma Corps to court if you or someone in your family gets damaged or dies from one of these noxious concoctions! You don't have the right! Remember that. I just have to ask, what do they know about that they feel that they need to be immune from being accountable? What are they hiding? What is there to keep them honest and not tamper with the medicines or just be downright lax with them?

This is just a brief overview on this tangle web of medical control.

GMO, Irradiated, Factory Farmed and Such

Big industrial farming couple with Biotechnas, the nuclear industry, and the pesticide industry have definitely created a Frankestein like monster. As a result, the soil has been overfarmed and denatured. Dangerous pesticides and herbicides sprayed liberally have made a toxic nightmare of our produce. Many or our staple foods are not even grown in this country. Banned pesticides and raw sewage sludge are used in their growing. (Yum) Genetic engineering has created foods that have been increasingly proven to be incompatible with our bodies. Growth hormones and antibiotics are given to cattle and chickens. (MORE) Irradiation (now misnamed pasteurization) has sterilized and neutralized the nutritional value of our foods (the latest being raw almonds). It kills the bacteria, but leaves the toxins too.

Many "foods" are processed with artificial chemical ingredients that you can't even pronounce (rule: never eat what you can't pronounce).

Viruses are sprayed on our cold cuts (mandated by the FDA) to supposedly kill listeria bacteria that may be lurking on them.

The FDA forbids the labeling of GMO foods because it states that "the truth could be misleading." Yeah, misleading me away from buying those products. Orwell lives!

FDA Claims "Food Supplement" Deaths; Hides Details from the Public

"Dietary supplements cause 600 'adverse events'", reported USA Today on 22 Sept, 2008. In an article that looks much like an official US Food and Drug Administration press release, it said that "Serious side effects from the use of food supplements resulted in 604 "adverse-event" reports - a list that includes at least five deaths - through the first six months that such accounts have been required by law." Good grief! Looks like all those supplement-popping health nuts really are nuts after all. Food supplements simply must be dangerous!

US Codex Delegation Ignoring US Law

Another road trip to Washington, DC, last Wednesday 09/24/08 to the FDA's Center for Food Safety in College Park, just over the Maryland line. The US Codex Delegation was holding a Public Meeting to discuss its policies for the upcoming Codex Committee on Nutritional Foods for Special Dietary Uses.

The usual cast of characters were present in the auditorium ... bureaucrats, lobbyists, a journalist and health claims researcher Maury Silverman and me as Public Observers.

The ten item agenda covered many of the issues that concern us at Natural Solutions Foundation. These include foods for children, labeling and health claims. We've prepared a draft set of comments that we will be submitting to the Delegation. We invite you to comment too.

What I found remarkable were the people present who questioned the Delegates directly about the US Codex Delegation supporting positions at the World Food Code meetings that seem to be contrary to US statutory and case law. We join those objections and the Comments we prepared specifically cite the US Supreme Court telling the FDA that it cannot censor truthful commercial speech about health even to protect us from making "bad" decisions with the information.

Here is what Dr. Laibow's written comments to the Delegation stated:

"NSF believes that the FDA's position on health claims violates the US Constitution in restricting freedom of speech (see the Supreme Court Decision in Thompson vs. Western States), that it has been enjoined from doing so in the cited Supreme Court decision and that it also violates US law (i.e., DSHEA, USC 1325, FDA Revitalization Act of 1997 and S. 1082, FDA reorganization act 2007 so that the US position in the international context of Codex violates both national competence and is, in fact, illegal."

One of the public commentators asked, pointedly, "Why is there no discussion of current US standards in the position paper - it would be useful to state what the current US law is..." [These quotes are from my notes and may be paraphrased.]

The Delegate responded, "US policy is the foundation of our [Codex] policy..."

The commentator responded, "If Codex is setting the world standard, US should always tell how its position relate to current US law."

Later, the Delegate admitted, "Codex definition of health claims is much broader than the US definition..." but made no mention of urging Codex to adopt definitions that would permit our more permissive, pro-free speech rules to stand.

Most tellingly, the Delegate, responding to a question about how much dialogue occurs with other Codex member nations, stated, "Most interactions occur with the quad countries - US, Canada, Australia and Britain... and through NAFTA..."

Another commentator asserted that "S&F claims [the typical vitamin support for normal structure and function claims] are health claims under Codex..."

And it goes... with citizens and commercial interests alike questioning the assumptions of the US Codex bureaucracy.

So much is happening this week and from all different angles at once.

Big Pharma Ties Want to Shut Down Vaccine 'Conspiracy Theories'

A foundation populated by the giants of business, banking, government and military wants to "vet" websites and limit the spread of information that it says creates "conspiracy theories".

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) says it is worried about the way the web has been "used to spread disinformation". They want to introduce a new system that would give websites a label for trustworthiness or unreliability.

One "damaging conspiracy theory" they want to shut down is the notion that MMR vaccines are harmful. Of course, this "conspiracy theory" stems not from paranoid forum postings and misquoted blog entries, but from scientific research into the mercury based preservative thimerosal.

Thimerosal was developed by Eli Lilly, and Merck is the world's largest supplier of the MMR triple jab -- and it is little wonder W3C considers such information to be "damaging" given that Eli Lilly and Merck are both paid up and approved members of the Consortium! If anyone should be labeled with an "unreliable" rating, it is the WC3.

October 1, 2008 - This week is the last week in which we can try to influence an assembly committee to oppose the proposed Dietitians Monopoly Bill, A2933 . This bill has already passed in the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee last month on the 15th and one more committee must pass it before it is sent to the senate for their committee approvals - where we will have to begin all over again to oppose it. If successful in the senate we will hold a rally before the final vote as our last effort .

Next Monday , October 6th, 2008, the final assembly committee to hear Bill A2933 will be the Assembly Appropriations Committee. Please contact all the appropriations committee members listed below and ask them to oppose bill A2 933. Call them and Email them -- information below.

Tell the assembly people that this bill is not only exclusionary and making natural health businesses and practitioners illegal , but will be expensive for the state to monitor and enforce. Remind them that when t his bill passed in Ohio that about 800 practitioners were initially arrested and hundreds of lives and businesses were destroyed by those who had to enforce the bill. There are no practitioners left in Ohio other than dietitians and few health shops other than the medically approved GNC.
