How I improved my dog's health....and saved his life....

This is my story about how healthy dog food improved and likely saved the life of our beautiful Sabre.

Only a year old, Sabre's health had never been great but started getting worse by the day. I'd taken him for check-ups and investigations and 'though we tried a few things, nothing worked. He seemed to have lost all energy and was generally not himself. He was only getting worse and I genuinely started to fear for his life......

I didn't know what to do or who to turn to, whatever we tried seemed to fail and nobody had any answers. We spoke to friends and experts and searched all over for a cure to his symptoms, but without the cause it was hopeless. We were running out of ideas and meanwhile Sabre's health just got worse and worse each day.

After a while I started to think for myself a bit, generally relying less on the experts. I'd spent time and money trying to sort things, which isn't a problem, but we just weren't getting anywhere.

Thinking things through I started to approach my thinking as if Sabre were one of my kids - I pretty much feel that way about him anyway. It wasn't long before I was starting to think about his diet - and just exactly what it was that we were feeding him. We'd always bought tins off the shelf, going for well known brands that he seemed to like best though he'd never had a great appetite.

At first there wasn't much information to go on - its not like with humans, information on dog food content is pretty scarce to come by but fortunately we came across an amazing report. Its true to say it changed Sabre's life.

Information is now available which helps owners really understand just what it is that they are feeding to their dogs. I'm talking here about what dog food contains - the preservatives banned in human food, road kill, other animals. I didn't make nice reading let me tell you.

But the report also gives sound recommendations on what to look out for and what is healthy. I started to understand what might be possible for Sabre - better health, better quality of life and a longer life.

The information from this amazing report not only helped us understand what to avoid but also pointed us in the right direction of genuinely healthy dog food, including the all-important treats!

The turnaround in Sabre was pretty amazing. Improvements started in only a few days and after a couple of weeks he was much better. Eating these recommended food, Sabre's appetite started to improve and after about a month he was like a new dog. More energy than ever before and less moody.

I'm convinced that its his new food regime - and he won't be changing back to the old ways.

Its strange looking back. We had always been so keen not to overfeed him as we knew the dangers of letting him get overweight. We simply hadn't put much thought into exactly what it was that we were feeding him.
