Dog Treats

As we love our dogs unconditionally, taking them for daily wals and sometimes on vacation. We want the best for our family pooches. And, sometimes commercial products aren't the best for your dog. Healthy dog treats are delicious and provide your pup with the added benefit of good nutrition.

The following recipes are all-natural treats that are made without preservatives and additives.

Dog Nutrition

Many dogs are either overweight or lack proper nutrition due to the diet we provide them. Where there are numerous choices for commercial dog foods, this can be confusing to many pet parents. As every dog is different, each dog deserves the right diet for him. So evaluate your pet's health and needs carefully, when deciding upon the right diet.

In order to provide proper nutrition dogs need fates, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water.

Water:
Dogs need fresh clean water frequently throughout the day. During exercise on in warm weather, it is recommended to increase your dog's water consumption.

Amino Acids:
These are the building blocks of protein. Dogs can produce nonessential amino acids, but they cannot produce essential amino acids, which must be obtained by a proper diet. Good sources include meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and some dairy products.

Fats:
Fat protects the internal organs and provides a layer of insulation for warmth. Fats, also, give a diet its flavor, which makes mealtimes more enjoyable. As in all diets, giving excess fat will result in increased weight gain and other health concerns.

Minerals:
Although minerals are used in small amounts, they help the body work in harmony. With vitamins as a co-enzyme, minerals regulate body fluids, aid in blood and bone formation, and promote a healthy nervous system.

Vitamins:
Dogs need both water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins in their diets. Although they can produce Vitamin C, they recieve most vitamins from proper diet. Vitamins help protect the body from illnesses, and without the proper amount, deficiencies or excesses can occur, which is detrimental.
