Write a grocery list; make sure to include fruit, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, and dairy products you like to eat. Let your child prepare some snacks for a few days. Help them make dips and cut up vegetables and fruit. When they come home, they can eat those healthy snacks kids love.

If the kids will be out after school playing sports or other activity, have them bring a snack so they won't be tempted to eat something unhealthy. Try to plan snacks to get the recommended number of servings in each food group; grains, fruits, vegetables, protein, and dairy.     One of my teenagers is proving to be a challenge now.
