Keep Your Kids Healthy With the Right Shoes

Ranked #91,869 in Entertainment, #1,134,816 overall

There are so many aspects to keeping our kids healthy as they go through their growing years. You've got to make sure you watch what they are eating and drinking, and make sure they get all their vitamins and exercise. You've got to help them learn how to communicate and how to get along in life. And you've also got to watch their hygiene and daily habits. In all of this, is it possible to think of something as minute as their shoes?

Children's Shoes

Choosing your children's shoes carefully is as important as making sure they get their daily dose of fruits and vegetables. Because they are constantly growing, the matter of maintaining proper foot care is always at hand, and always important. Much of what is on the market for kids' shoes today is just plain bad for their growing feet. One exception in particular is that of John Deere boots. Most people think these are just shoes for the cowboy or cowgirl, or shoes just for the big kids; but John Deere boots make a great shoe choice for the growing child.

The Right Size

Some time ago, it was common practice to buy shoes a few sizes larger than what a child wore, in order to save some money; the idea being that they would get more mileage out of shoes as their feet grew into them. While it is ok to leave a little wiggle room in your child's shoe, you certainly don't want to have large gaps and a heel that slips when the child walks. When shoes slip as the child walks, it causes extra pressure on toes and makes them sore.

Avoid Tight Fitting Shoes

On the other side of the spectrum is a pair of shoes that is getting tight. The result of not buying the right size shoe is that your child will have sore feet at the least, and be at risk for foot problems like ingrown toenails at worst.
Shoes that are too tight or too small will result in sore feet and possible ingrown toenails as well as other foot problems, and shoes that are too large will cause the toes to slide forward which is not only uncomfortable but results in sore toes as well.

The Healthiest Shoe

Materials used in constructing shoes is also an issue both children and adults face. Think about it this way, your skin needs to breathe; yet you just can't spend all of your days barefoot. Most of the time, people have their feet encased and insulated inside of their shoes. This is not a bad thing if your shoes are made with the best possible materials to let them breathe. Leather and canvas shoes make the best options for both children and adults. John Deere boots are made with high quality leather, and also lined with an antibacterial, antimicrobial liner. This liner helps eliminate problems with smell, and keep feet healthier.
Keeping your kids in the best fitting, healthiest shoe choices is worth the time and effort, as it will save them from problems with their feet as they grow into their teen and adult years. It doesn't take much to find shoes like John Deere boots, with the right materials and construction; and your kids' feet will thank you!
