Make Yourself Healthier - Drink WATER

I have been doing plenty of things to try and make myself as healthy as possible. I have read articles, books, and heard lectures about healthy living and I would like to share my experiences.

I found that the secret to life is WATER. Find out why.

7 Reasons to Drink Plenty of Water

and how to start a water drinking habit

Obviously you know that drinking water is important. But, even if we know that drinking water is important we still don't drink enough.

The thing about it is that there are many different reasons to drink water, but we would rather drink other things like juice, soda, beer, or what ever else. Or, sometimes we don't drink anything, and that means dehydration

I have been like many of you. But now that I know why drinking water is so important, I drink it all the time.

Here are 8 reasons to drink plenty of water:

1. Cleaning up our Insides - Water is used to help clear out all of the junk and toxins out of our body.

2. Healthy Skin - Drinking water can help clear up your skin, also you will find that your skin will have a healthier glow.

3. Gain Energy - Being dehydrated will in turn lead to a lot less energy on your part. Even mild dehydration will mean a loss of energy. Remember if you are thirsty, you are dehydrated.

4. Weight Loss - Water is a natural tool for weight loss. It has 0 calories which means you will gain no weight. It can even get rid of your appetite, in fact most of the time we think that we are hungry our body is really asking for water.

5. Better Exercise - If you drink a good amount of water a day it can help you lift more weight. In addition if you are exercising you need to drink more then an average daily amount of water.

6. Digestion - The digestion process needs a good amount of water to work properly. Water can help the acids in your stomach break down food.

7. Heart - Drinking water is also great for the heart. A study suggests that if you drink more then 5 cups of water a day you are 41% less likely to die from a heart attack.

Now here is my method of starting a water drinking habit:

Substitute water - If normally at some time in the day you drink a soda or a beer try to replace it with simple water.

Keep a log - If you need to get yourself a journal and write daily about how much water you have drank in that day.

Exercise - When you exercise you need to drink a lot of water. It will be a firm reminder that you need to drink plenty of water in a day.

Carry a bottle around - Keep a bottle with you where ever you go. Take sips and fill it up when ever you can.

Get a filter - Get a water filter that you can put on your sink. That way the filtered water will taste more clean like bottled water and you won't have to spend money on bottled water.

Do you drink enough water?

When I was about 10-12 years old the doctor told me that I'm prone to get kidney stones so I should drink a lot of water. And it's good because of the health benefits you described here anyway.

I definitely find that I lose more weight (when I'm actually trying to) when I drink more water. Lately, I've been pretty good about it, because I've been hiking a LOT. But I tend to slack off and drink too much Diet Coke--a crutch--when I'm not exercising as much. Drinking plenty of water is something I always have to pay attention to. And bug my husband about.

Don't drink to much. Too much of the caffeine can hurt your brain.
