Ideas to help kids lose weight healthily

Things you can do to kick start a diet into action

There are quite a lot of things you can do to help your kids lose weight healthily. The whole basis though surrounds around getting more exercise / raising activity levels and eating less calories. Pleaswe note, eating less calories is not the same as eating less food. In actual fact, you may find they need to eat MORE food to promote healthy weight loss.

First of all you should try to keep a note of how much television they watch per week, and how often they spend playing computer games. This is one of the main areas of improvements you can make from recent studies. As the number of TV viewing hours has risen, so has the rates of obesity.

Swap potato chips for fruit at lunchtime. If they get through a large amount of potato chips then consider swapping them out for fruit instead. chips are high in fat and nowadays the bags are getting bigger and bigger - its easy to eat an extra 250 calories+ from a single bag.

Watch the amount of takeaways you buy them. As lifestyles and working hours have gotten more hectic, the number of takeaways has also risen. This is also proven by recent figures released from fast food chains who have promoted sky high profits during the economic downtime. Although you don't have to cut them out completely, try to limit them to 1 per week at most.
