Heart Disease Prevention

My family is full of heart disease. I have sat through 4 open heart surgeries - one for my mom, one for my dad and two for my paternal grandfather. My uncle, my grandmother and countless others have had heart attacks and problems. I am passionate about people understanding that you can prevent heart disease. With a few lifestyle changes, your heart will be happy and healthy!

American Heart Health Month!

February is American Heart Health Month. This is the month to commit to saving your life from heart disease. The CDC created the Million Hearts Challenge to help prevent one million deaths from heart disease. Pledge your commitment today to your heart and join the challenge (click the link below)!

Talk to Your Family

You may not want to know exactly what is wrong with Uncle Jimmy's hernia, but the information that you gain from knowing about family issues can save your life. The more you know the more you can prevent. Is your heart disease hereditary or life style? There is actually a difference and knowing can help you manage your risks better. So do your heart a favor and sit down and learn about your family health, you will be happy you did!

Meditation for your heart

Your heart is greatly impacted by stress levels. In fact more people with Type A personality are impacted by heart disease. Meditation is a great way to reduce stress and save your heart.

Exercise and Heart Disease

Exercise is crucial to a healthy heart. Exercise does not have to be a major program and gym time, it can be as basic as walking. Walking is a great way to get your blood pumping and keep you healthy.
