A Passion for Animals

I have loved animals all my life, I admire their strength, resiliency, companionship, silly character and how much fun they bring into my life. Each has its own distinct, unique character with super sweetness and goofy quirks! (Just like some humans I know!) I enjoy each and every animal I meet, there's just a special connection between us and I LOVE that! My life is deeply enhanced by being around them, the more, the better. :-) I am far more blessed by having them in my life than I could ever imagine. Life without pets just isn't life!
I have just begun to read The Story of Edgar Sawtelle and I loved how subtly he described the character of the dogs. I was blown away by his beautiful words and seeing life through their eyes, how they just KNOW things. I believe animals have a God-given wisdom all their own, their senses and sensitivities are to be honored and respected, never abused or exploited. We are blessed by their friendship, companionship, partnership and love. I shudder to think where I'd be had I not enjoyed the company of animals all my life. They are my passion and I am truly grateful to God for their place in my life, and in our world.

Noodle, The Tumbling Kitten, Finds a Home

I just HAD to share this very sweet story that was on our local news just yesterday. You can read the story and see the touching video of Noodle, a kitten born with a rare neurological condition that affects her movement. She kind of tumbles a bit, but has a heart of pure gold - and best of all - due to this story being on the news, she found a loving and compassionate home! This heartwarming story will make your day! Please share it with your friends, it's too sweet to keep to ourselves!

I am just now reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle (as noted above) - I am enthralled by this man's ability to describe scenery, people, and especially the very subtle, and often overlooked, sweet characteristics of man's best friend. I dearly appreciate how he writes things from a place of deep validation and understanding and helps us see through doggy eyes. I don't think I've read a novel since I graduated high school! I am pleased to have this book to look forward to, I want to savor all his insightful comments and notations about what animals sense and know. It's beautiful, I do hope you will consider picking it up, it's a wonderfu rainy day companion. I put a book cover on mine to preserve the jacket - that's how much I love this book already, I'm taking the best care of it!
