You should have hired me 6 months ago!
I'm a recent college grad with a BA in Communications and concentration in Marketing/Public Relations. In September, I will be starting my graduate program in Integrated Marketing Communication. I am friendly and outgoing with a great sense of humor. I don't have a lot of experience, but my ability to learn quickly makes up for the skills I don't have or the ones that need to be worked on. I'm eager to start working and gaining real-life, practical experience in my field.
Seriously, though, you're missing out by not hiring me.
I'm not joking.
As of this writing, I currently work part-time at a grocery store. It is my first job and I have been there for six years, but the time has come for me to move on and find something that is a better fit, both personally and professionally. I am friendly and outgoing; a quick learner who is able to think on her feet. I work equally well with others and on my own - I just need a place that will let me put my talents to good use!Growing up, I always knew I wanted to write, though the answer to "about what?" has continued to change and evolve over the years. At first, I didn't care what I wrote about - I just wanted to write! In my English classes, I wrote short stories about alien abductions and about family members dying, as well as a kid being called upon to disarm a bomb before it destroys the school. Since I went to a Jewish day school (with dual Judaic/secular education), I also had to write stories and sentences in Hebrew. This was more of a challenge, but I mostly wrote about purple elephants and monkeys jumping on the bed.
One day, Mrs. Chandler asked us to write about our most vivid childhood memory, and that was when I discovered my real writing passion: wrestling. You read that right: I love professional wrestling. Or, did. Well, still do. Sort of. As I started writing about my experience seeing my favorite wrestler in person, a light bulb went on and I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.
Many things have changed since then, but the one constant in my life has remained writing. No matter what it is, I like writing it. I can write everything from press releases to poetry to product copy and be happy as a clam while doing it. Though I have been told many times that I am a good writer, I believe that the majority of that "goodness" comes from the basic fact that I enjoy what I do.
And so, I admit it: I am a dork. I love learning, but I also love being creative - both with my words and in the kitchen. Y'see, there is a two-fold reason to having me on your team. Not only do I work hard and do the best that I can, but I also love.to.bake. Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies - you name it. I'm certainly no "Ace of Cakes" as far as the decorating goes, but everyone I've ever met has been able to overlook the decoration and design as long as the deliciousness remains intact!

My life!
I think an important part of being a good, contributing employee is being well-rounded, both inside and outside of the office. Here, you'll find a little more about me - in photos. You'll find my family, my car, significant other, the kitties, my baking and God knows what else I stumble upon. Some are taken with a regular digital camera, but that's dying a very slow death (that I wish would speed up so I could get a new one!), so most are taken with my BlackBerry Storm. While I'm certainly no expert photographer, I love to whip out the camera and capture the moment whenever the opportunity strikes.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
